A long and very trying few days... Can't really post this anywhere else due to confidentiality but need to vent and get some vibes. Had to do a summary dismissal on a staff member that has been with the company for several years. It was bad, but she had put herself in an untenable position. Even then management was ready to offer her a lifeline due to her service but she put them in a position where they had no other option. Due to our interaction I had to absent myself from the meetings (which I thought was a good idea) and I insisted my male counterpart be present. These things are touchy and you have to have witnesses. Part of my job is to guide the owners through these minefields and I've had to write a lot of these letters but this one was hard. I liked the woman and whilst we weren't close friends we got on well. It has been very hard as I cannot even contact her, worse, I may have to give evidence. This is one of those days my job is not so great. Going to put my OHS, IR and HR caps away in a dark closet for the weekend and try to do some happy things. |

RavishingRabbit -- Oh god. They are ALL absolutely gorgeous! I'm so jealous. They are pure beauties! And I completely agree with what you said to LBJ. LBJ -- I'm trying for Accounting. But starting completely over. I can't get my transcripts from my other school because I owe them $4,000 so I'm starting over completely from scratch at a community college in Pittsburgh. Going for my Associates in Accounting and then **HOPEFULLY** transfering to another school here for my Bachelors in Accounting also. Hopefully. It feels so hopeless having to start over from scratch but I guess I don't really have a choice since I have no way to pay the $4,000 right now. It will take me longer to pay that off then it will be for me to just finish school, LOL. BLEH. Roberta, that sounds stressful. Sending lots of destressing vibes your way! <3 Also, glad to her Benji is doing well! Is anyone else going to see the new Bond movie, Skyfall?? I'm so excited to see it this weekend! I've only seen Casino Royale but LOVED it (my boyfriend made me watch it this past weekend so I'd understand more about this coming one!). I think my bun buns are getting out of their bratty teenage stages! YAAAAAAAYYYYYY. Both the boyfriend and I have noticed that they are starting to take a lot more floppy breaks in between running around like crazy chickens with their heads cut off. They still act like crazy rabbits but definitely a LOT more breaks. Ohhhh, it's so refreshing compared to their bratty baby bunny 'tudes! AND it's so nice because they love to flop right down next to us! Still don't stay down longer than a couple minutes but those couple minutes do a lot when you're used to not even a minute of solitude with them! |

I am crossing my fingers that Chacha gets a clean bill of health this coming Wednesday. She is only getting irritated with her right ear when I administer the drops. Otherwise, she cleans herself thoroughly after I put her back on the carpet. She is cleaning the human cooties off of her, LOL! If she gets a clean bill of health, mommy is going to go birthday shopping for her Her birthday will be on 11/24, which is a Saturday. Also, my photographer friend agreed to do a Chacha photo shoot with me next Thursday if the bunny is feeling fine. I haven't had one done since early 2011 so I think it is time. The photos always turn out great and the photos will be a reminder of how much she means to me. My neck has been hurting me when I wake up in the morning, which means it is a sign that I need to get a new pillow! Gah! |

Yesterday I did something I've wanted to for ages... I walked in and told my boss what I thought of the place and resigned. Bit of a back story, I started the job as a casual shelf stacker in June last year, the people who hired me gave me the impression that I would be able to multi-skill and work in other departments. Well that never happened and in February and March this year they put my hours back to once a week, then once a month and last shift I had there was the middle of June... nothing since. Talking to the boss apparently it's not my fault and 'restructuring' is why I never got any work... but they hired 2 new casual night fillers and gave them shifts (probably cause they're related or best friends of the management), I also said that the anti discrimination laws seem to be a joke there as both my fellow workers and those higher up make snide remarks and comments about the openly gay manager there, the boss told me 'he doesn't mind, in fact he gives as good as he gets', I told him I don't care, I have family and friends who are gay and I find it offensive. Also suffering depression and having my hours cut to nothing has not helped my depression and right now I'm in a big rut and I know that if I went in and worked and a worker made a snide remark about anything I'd snap and probably get my self fired, so I left on my terms. I really want to get my head together before I even start looking for a new job. Yesterday though I did have a smile, I decided to lie down next to the girls' crate and little Thee sniffed me before hopping over and had a hop around on my belly before going back into the crate, Seph wasn't quite sure but came over to the crate door and sniffed at me. It was so adorable! |

Roberta - Ha! Your bunnies sound hilarious! I'm sorry about the stressful time at work though, that sounds awful. I hope things settle down for you. Tanlover - Thanks for the bunny compliment! And I'm glad Benji is doing better as well. He seems practically like his old self today already, hopping around his area faster than I'd like him to, haha. He's not eating as much hay as I'd like but he's eating some and has been munching on his greens and pellets on and off throughout the day so at least it's something. I'll be going to see the new Skyfall movie either later today or tomorrow actually! I can't wait, I'm sooo excited. I loved the other ones! Lovechacha - I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Chacha on Wednesday! Toady - Kudos to you for quitting! That sounds like a crappy place anyways so you're better off without it, and I can't stand people who discriminate like that so I would've hated being around that too if it were me. I'm sorry about the depression, I used to suffer from that for years myself actually when I was younger. I realize we don't know each other but if you ever need someone to talk to feel free to send me a message. I think quitting a job like that though is definitely a step in the right direction if it was making things worse for you and it's always good to prioritize yourself, your health should come first! Your Thee reminds me of Abigail, when me or my boyfriend lies down on the floor she always climb up on us, haha. Alternatively if either of us hunch down on our elbows and knees she jumps up on our backs, she's so silly. She reminds me of what lion tamers do with the jumping up on our backs like that, haha. |

Agh! This is not a good day. Seems like I don't have any good days anymore. I got another nasty email from my adviser. He says he is ready to resign as my adviser and basically threatened me. I just can't deal with this right now. I am so busy for the next 10 days and he keeps saying he is available at times I am not. I don't understand what the urgency is. |

jeepers! i miss a couple days and look at what i miss! whew! gotta say, OMG BENJI IS DROOLWORTHY! what a hunk! (of course Abigail and Rorscach are beauties too but wowza) glad his surgery went well. Hippy went in on weds for his pre-op and omg was he mad at me after. Kicked the vet in the chest a few times and thumped for a good 5mins after he was done being examined then gave himself a good long washing after flipping his "paws" a few times against the carrier. he is now back to normal and running bunny 500s in the kitchen whlle the kids chase him. (its a new game they play, Mags will let him out of the pen and he does zoomies..they chase. they stop, flop and he does binkys or headbuts until they go again.) He also got his first taste of willow and LOVED it..and he got a new ball for bing so evil to the vet, his first jingle bell ball which he picks up and throws for about 15mins evry few hours..ahh i love my buns.. cant wait to get another once he is healed from neutering, goes in on the 27th..Im SO nervous..any advice? |

Aww, I would definitely love to squeeze those bunnies. They are such cuties. Not that mine aren't adorable. I hope things work themselves out. I just didn't like the tone of the email. It was rather confrontational. I have been given an ultimatum and I don't feel as though it is deserved. I've been going through a rough time lately. I couldn't even think about my thesis, so I didn't see any reason to keep updating him with nothing every month. It isn't like I never communicated with him at all though, just not every month. |

tanlover - Accounting, eh? You must be good at math. It is good that you want to get a bachelors, I hear it is difficult to find a decent job with an associates in accounting. Are you able to get financial aid then? |

HippyHop - Thanks! Haha. I agree, I think all my buns are gorgeous but Benji certainly is something special as far as looks go! My buns all love willow as well, at least the unpeeled kind, they don't care much for the already peeled type. I get them the unpeeled willow balls every now and then, but at around 3-4 bucks a pop they're kind of pricey given just Abigail alone eats the entire thing in like an hour or two, haha. I assume you mean advice about your bun going in to get neutered? LBJ - Haha, well they would all love a squeeze too! Well, aside from Rorschach, he's not the cuddliest of bunnies. He likes to be petted, but only for shorter periods of times and mainly at his choosing, haha. Abigail and especially Benji though will just sit there and let you pet them FOREVER. I barely even have to touch Benji and he instantly flops down to be petted. That sucks that your adviser is being the way he is, you would think he could chill out a bit. I'm certain things will work out though. Tanlover - To update my previous post, we went and saw Skyfall earlier! I liked it a lot. |

Hi LBJ, Is it possible that it's the way your adviser has written it, this is why email etc can be misleading. I have often been accused of being abrupt, overly direct or rude simply because I have worded something badly, well, not badly but in a manner that was not necessarily familiar to the recipient, in an effort to keep it short and failed to use emoticons. This is not saying anything negative (cos I just read through what I wrote and could see the potential there for confusion, I'm getting better at reading these things ) I know how hard you're trying and the crap you have had to take fro some others. Just offering a possibility. Can you schedule a face to face to get some clarity ? |

Thanks RR! Roberta - Oh no, he was perfectly clear. I did ask him if we could meet after things have calmed down. I have been running around crazy these last few weeks. I haven't received a response yet, but I imagine I will hear back Monday. Haha Mike! You're sad because it's going to be in the 60s/70s. I'm sad because it's going to be in the 30s. |

Haha, that reminds me of the winters when I was growing up in Sweden Imais! I so **fondly** remember around those temperatures of -15 to -20 Celsius when your nostrils would stick together just from breathing when you were outside, haha. |

LBJ -- Yeah, I was emancipated from my parents when I was 15 so lucky me, I've always gotten pretty excellent financial aide packages. RavishingRabbit -- Just came back from Skyfall and absolutely LOVED it! And to the above conversation, I HATE cold weather. Thankfully the past few days in Pittsburgh have been really nice. High 50's and such. Can't complain since it got sooooo cold after Hurricane Sandy! |

This may sound like a stupid question -- but how hot is too hot for our little bun buns? I've never had the problem to worry about since we've almost always had air conditioning the whole time we've had them since April so I'm not really sure. But since we've had air conditioning our place has always been set at a steady 70-72 degrees F. Except now that they've turned it off for the winter and the heating on it's about 75-76. I see my buns lounging around a lot more on the plastic on the bottom of the cage so I wasn't sure if perhaps they are getting too warm or what -- I'm probably being WAY over protective butttttt I can't help but wonder if I'm torturing them and should give them some cold ice water bottles or something? Opinions, thoughts? |

Hi Tanlover, 80F or 27C. They like Coolie bottles from about 25C so you could put one or two in the area and they will decide if they want to lay on them. Thankfully my new bunny room stays cool, before the back room could get to ambient temp which was on one occasion 45C. I spent the Summer without any form of cooling whilst the buns got the swampy to keep their area comfy (worked too, I kept their immediate area around 28C and would go through about 15 coolie bottles a day with the help of a neighbour coming in to change the bottles during the day) |

I know it's still a month away but any started working out what they're getting their pets (not humans) for Christmas? Girls are going in for their spay so that's their present and I'm upgrading Loki's crate to a 48", still don't know what I'll get my kitties though. |

Goodness things have been crazy for me. I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing semi-well. =] TL you have to post pictures of the party! =] I'm glad it went well. Good luck on the accounting! We have several people coming in for the economics side of it. It seems all really interesting. But to be honest my brain has a really hard time wrapping around the math behind. LBJ is there no way you can transfer schools? I know it can be a massive pain in the ass to do but if you feel like you might get better guidance somewhere else it might be better. I hope things get better! I kind of want to punch your advisor in the face. =p LHM that looks like the weather we've been getting here in FL. Just not as cold and a bit warmer. I don't think the state knows the true meaning of a cold Christmas either. =p Welcome Ravishing! =] (Back I guess is a better way to put it. ;P) LoveChaCha I love Japanese stores! I really miss the Japantown in SF that I would go to with my family as a kid growing up. There was this really cute Japanese bookstore/stationary place called Kinokunia that sold the cutest pens and pencils. I've been dying to go back there since I moved but we just never seem to find time. =p (Honestly spending all our time trying to eat as much Asian food as I can when I visit home.) This week has been exhausting. I really need to find a hematologist near me. It's been a while since I've seen one for my blood disorder and it's really taking a toll on me. This past week I've been getting this sleepy spells. Where I'll start getting really foggy and need to lie down right then and there to sleep for hours on end. It's something that's happened before so I'm not freaked out about it. I just need to get my blood work done and get things squared away. Mainly because it's been affecting my school work and I've missed classes because of it. We lost power for the first time too! 8O It was the oddest thing. Fun and odd and freaky all the same time. Now we know we need to buy a few things. But we packed up Skipper and left for my bf's parents' house so that way she could sleep with some light. It's just too dark where we live to have her sleep with no night lights. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! |

Thanks for the info, Roberta. I'll probably stick some in there and see what they do with them. I did it for like 15 minutes the other day to see if they'd decide to and they didn't but I was nervous to leave it in there since they are such little chewers. I can just see Tanger taking his little chompers to one of them and flooding the bunny condo, hahahaha. SkippersMama -- I just hooked up my phone to my computer when you said that -- so photos are coming! I'm just waiting for my computer to update iPhoto since apparently it needed to be updated and it's taking forever so I probably won't have time to add it into this post but I'll do it as soon as it updates fully! It says it's going to take a half hour, pftttt. Toady -- I've been thinking about it! I spent my time searching Target yesterday hoping to find a bunny tree ornament so the buns could have their own bunny ornaments on the tree but the BF said we should just order some off-line because I definitely didn't see anything of the such at Target. Booo. They even had lions and such! But no Bunnies! I was showing my BF yesterday how I wanted to get some of those tunnels and cat play things for the buns for Christmas. Not the expensive ones but the cheap ones. I've seen some people here use them for their buns and I used to have one for my cat and ferret so I think I've convinced him to get them! I keep meaning to make the buns their little destruction house out of a cardboard box so I'm debating whether to just wait and make it for Christmas or not, hahaha. We decided to put up our tree right after Thanksgiving -- wish us luck that the buns don't decide to get out and tear the thing down! It's right on the other side of their play area, haha! |

tanlover - They should be alright. You can give them a cooling bottle or a slab (my buns have a Chin Chiller). If they want to lay on it, they will. Toady - It will probably be treats for the dog this year. The buns need some new toys, so I will have to check some stuff out. Skippersmama - I can't transfer now. I am all but thesis, I don't have any classes left to do. |
