Nikita: that's insane. What is it with landlords and thinking bunnies are nightmare terrors that are going to destroy their property?? My landlord agreed to let me have a bun with no fee provided I keep her caged 24/7. *snort* Yeah like that was going to happen. It's like they don't realize bunnies are potty trained and won't destroy too much provided you give then enough toys. O_o I feel like I've been absent far too long. I stop by everyday by rarely have the time to actually say hi or do anything besides great new people. My thesis has taken over my entire existence. This is the third weekend in a row I have to write 20+ pages of the first chapter. My eyes may begin to bleed from translating Greek and reading insanely dull commentary (that I don't agree with) on my texts. I'm lecturing for the first time in my TA class on Monday. Super nervous, especially since it's a class on American Religion and that's soooooo not my area. Cinnabuns' good. Her spoiled attitude is really coming across the past few days. I feel like a bad bun mom somedays cause I'm so super busy and I haven't been able to spend as much time with her as I normally do. She hangs out next to my desk while I work and I try to stop at least once an hour and talk to her. Well, back to my insanity. |

You know Cinnabun you have a really good point. I'm surprised by the amount of lack of knowledge that people have about rabbits! I have now become known as the crazy bunny girl since I have gotten Skipper. (But I only talk so much about her because I want to educate people about proper bunny care.) Any way, I was talking about Skipper at work and there were quite a few people in there and I started talking about how nervous I was about getting Skipper spayed and how proud of her I was with how well her litter habits have been since we moved. They were completely shocked when I told them she lives in a 6ft cage, gets 3-4 hours of playtime (when I'm in school), and knows how to use a litter box to keep things sanitary. I hope your thesis goes well Cinnabun! =] What are you getting your Masters in and what's your goal in the long run of things? Like what do you want to teach? (Sorry forgot. >.>) Hahahaha LoveChaCha! That's too cute/funny. Buns are always full of surprises. =p Woot woot on the test! I hate it when teachers but questions on the test when you're like wtf is this? We didn't go over this in class nor was it covered in the book. >.< Well, things are going well over here. =] Skipper's being a terror wanting to ruin the sanctity of the neutral territory on the other side of the house. (MUST HAVE NEUTRAL TERRITORY! >=O) Other than it's all good. =] Sort of flippin' out over who to take my British Lit class with since both teachers are HORRIBLE. They had terrible ratings on RateMyProfessor. And I've had some people come into work that had/have her....it's just not good news. So I'm trying to figure out if I should take it online with a professor who gives really tricky tests or in person with a professor is just nuts/insane. Dx We're having a house warming party net weekend that I'm trying to plan for. I have no clue what I'm doing. And the house still has tons of boxes that needs to be unpacked. xD I've been trying to put off unpacking so hard core because I just hate it. =P REALLY excited for HALO 4 this Tuesday. The bf, his brother-in-law and I are going to the midnight release for it. =] |

Thanks Masters in Comparative Religion with a focus on Early Christianity and its relationship to Greek cult religion and mythology. I want to get my PhD and teach in the long run. Hopefully I'm headed to PhD land after I finish my thesis and graduate in 2013. |

Holy crap Cinnabun! That would make my head spin. I was raised with very religious parents and since having grown up and exposed to different things I'm totally screwed up in the way I view religion. So I feel like I would have no clue on how to teach the subject. What in the world made you want to teach Religion? (I promise I don't mean it meanly. I'm just blown out of the water. That's totally crazy-in a good way-and not something you see everyday.) |

Wow CinnabunMom that's impressive! Good luck on teaching I'm just finishing up Cegep now (5 more weeks!!) and applied to start at McGill in the fall! Wish me luck, I'm so nervous. They won't even be making any decisions till March but I've been obsessively checking my application status daily since I sent it in haha. |

Good luck at McGill! Well, I went into college knowing I was going to be an ancient history major. Then I took an "Understanding the New Testament" course which proceeded to take the NT and put it into historical perspective. I, having left the church years before and basically deciding I was somewhere between atheism and agnostic, found this fascinating as I had always been frustrated with the differences in the New Testament. And I didn't realize that there were people doing this stuff for a living. I became hooked, especially after I started learning about the texts that are Christian but don't exist in the NT because they were deemed "heretical." I work mostly with texts that aren't in the NT, though I am using the Gospel of John in my thesis as an example of early Christians taking the ways Greeks told myth and making Christian mythology in turn. (PS: totally not trying to talk theology here as I understand people have various level of devoutness, just trying to explain my thesis and how I came to the study of religion). Because I study mythology mostly, my teaching in the future won't be focused so much on the NT itself (though I could teach a course on the gospels if I wanted to...), but I plan on teaching courses on myth, symbols, signs, and other more literary things in Early Christianity and the Greek world. I really hope someday to teach a course on "Myth, Fairy Tales, Science Fiction and Religion" because that basically sums up my entire research outlook. |

CBM - I actually think it would be helpful for a person in your line of work to have an "open mind", so don't think that where you are coming from with all of this is weird.
I am in the middle of putting a poster together. I have a conference I am going to in about a week and a half. I have the basic stuff all figured out, now I need to figure out which articles I am going to include in my lit review (at least what will appear on the poster). I want to make sure I'm including important and good examples, without being bogged down with too many since there is limited space. Hopefully I am making sense here. LOL
Thank you again Roberta for the froggie. I am definitely going to include it. =)
On another note, I was contacted for an interview for a job. I was a little surprised, but I responded with days I am available to come in for the interview. Didn't hear anything back after that. Huh. |

Today was a horrible day at work. It was not only busy, but some of the people.. why are HORRIBLY MEAN people allowed to go shopping? What do they think they will accomplish from being rude to workers? As I was transferring my iPhone photos onto my personal laptop, I fell asleep on my bed for half an hour, until my Dad got home from work. Did i mention that he has a new job? He works for the casino now. Good benefits - 100% covered. I told him that he better take advantage of that I misplaced my credit card someplace in the apartment (oh silly me!) so I had to call for a replacement one. I hope I get it in time for the release of a video game o_O;; Don't worry, I make my payments on time : - D I'm so proud of myself! I cleaned Chacha's anal scent glands ALL BY MYSEELLLLLLLLLFFFFFFFF! I just put her into a bunny burrito and kept her butt sticking out and held her close, and slowly put her onto her back. I used a little canola oil on a q-tip and got the icky gunk off her glands. ICK! I did not smell anything - I am so happy that she is such a clean bunny She was so pissed afterward! So I gave her a blueberry craisin in return! Ah, the talk of school I'm in a special grant program based on income, and there is a counselor that helps students meet their goals. She wanted to meet with students one on one to talk about progress. She was so encouraging. She told me that I should not beat myself up so much because of 'all of the students that she has spoken to her entire career from grade school to grad school' she says that I am one that has truly impressed her. She told me that I should not limit myself to wanting to become a Nurse and maybe shoot for ARNP. We shall see though I want to do many other things rather just be in school all the time! It made me happy to hear this from her |

Sweets and Bunjamin are so cute I had to take Chacha to the Animal ER yesterday. She is fine, just an outer ear infection, but she didn't seem to pleased. She was irritated by the fact that she could not get rid of the itch in her ear. I had to call into work and tell them that I would be late, but they called me back a half hour later and told me that my shift was covered. Chacha is resting and her ears are back to normal, but I have to put ointment in her ear twice a day for 7 days. She'll be going to see her regular vet next week Wednesday. I already know that she won't be liking it. LOL |

Aww, poor ChaCha bun. =( Yeah, so, I'm not sure what I should do. I still haven't heard back about this interview. They said they wanted to schedule one, I responded back saying when I was available, and... nothing. This was last week. I don't know if I should bug them or wait longer. =\ |

I haven't interviewed with them yet. I have only been contacted wanting to know if I can come for an interview. So it is okay to try contacting them again? I'm worried that maybe they didn't get my message or something. |

I don't think it's too early if you just say you didn't receive a time or confirmation and you would like to set one and maybe ask if a certain time and day works for them? |

I hope ChaCha feels better! LBJ I don't think calling them again would hurt. But I've not had much experience with this sort of thing so I'm not sure. Well, I'm tired as hell and the bf and I are going to the HALO 4 midnight release tonight. =p His brother-in-law is supposed to be meeting us there so it should be fun. I just need to refuel with some massive caffeine. xD Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. =] |

Hi LBJ, I'd phone... You were told they were going to schedule an interview and have not heard. The message may have gone astray and let's face it, it would not be the first time the task of contacting shortlisters was given to a receptionist or assistant and they failed to do it or missed someone. |

Very glad I work where I work at the moment. I might be an executive but aside from the fact we can dress casually all week I also get to be a little bit silly every now and then. The MD (Managing Director) sent me vids of the prototype for the new pot lifter (these are ceramic plant pots the size of a small compact car) The video shows one of our Trademart managers and the mechanic testing the unit and making adjustments. I am trying to sync it with a music piece "Yaketysax" also know as the Benny Hill Theme. The Financial Controller, my immediate supervisor and one space between me and the MD walked in and caught me in the process, he was very pleased with the idea. So now I can't fail, FC is as keen for this prank to proceed as I am. If I manage to convert the file and add the soundtrack I will post it for you. |

Actually, Its been a week for it. In my other role as Occ Health and safety co ordinator I have created all the induction slideshows and other files. But our OHS rep insists on hoarding the tasks and has been making it very difficult as he is limited in his admin abilities (great guy though and is doing fantastic work) as a little surprise I have EDITED my induction slide show. I have added a new 5 minute safety video he will like and a music track he is not going to see coming. Bwahahahahaha. I just have to get into the lecture room and fix the settings on the laptop attached to the projector before the next induction. Kansas "Wayward Son" and a little AC/DC. |
