I took Franz to the ER because he was acting funny and not eating and later I thought he was ok because he perked up and I saw him eat so I thought maybe he was ok, and then the vet said he had a serious problem and that they couldn't hear his stomach moving and they are keeping him for 3-4 days to see the proper rabbit vet on Monday and observe hi . They are giving him a smorgasbord of meds tests and treatments including an x ray which I hope will tell us something because he 's never had one before. They said his molars might have problems also. I'm going to get an update at 8am and Visiting hours are at 11:30-12:30. |

UPDATE I just got the overnight report and the doctor said he ate and pooped and that he is a sweet bunny I will go visit him at 11:30 today and talk to the doctor also. I'm not sure if they has already done his X-ray or not, but it would be nice so then he could maybe come home. |

Yeah, fluids, pain meds, motility drugs, crit care, and lots of fresh parsley and kisses. Oh yeah, he is next to a chicken which made me giggle to see this big chicken in patient, and then I was thinking how it might crow or something in the morning and that that would scare the crap out of Franz! I mean their little kennels are steel and echoey with bars on the front, and they are in a "quiet room" away from the dogs, but chickens aren't quiet! I don't know if it was a rooster or not, but I WILL ask them if it crows in the morning! |

I took Franz home a few hours ago, the vet team was really awesome. I was so surprised I got calls from the vet and staff more than once a day, and they were so good with him! They gave him a variety of greens but made sure it was in perfect proportion with the other food he actually ate, and they gave him crit care every 8 hours around the clock and the tech said she gave him 2ccs at a time for him to chew and she cleaned his face after so he smelled good and he was fluffy! Usually he is depressed and greasy from head to toe, but I thought it couldn't be helped. He followed me around like a puppy and played with me . He and Jasmine got along and they groomed eachother and he didn't chase her or anything. I've never seen so many big round poops coming out of a bunny! I emptied the litter twice since 7pm... He's like a well oiled machine! SO Franz got the clear on his molars, the vet said they are just slightly larger than normal but not yet a problem, could grind back on their own. Franz's finale was 4 $50-60 dollar tests for e cunniculi, lead, liver, and kidneys. Results come in Wednesday! I'm giving him Tramadol and metacamSomethibg and crit care |

Vet called me tonight and told me Franz's kidneys were good and his lead was "normal" at 14 points, and she said that they don't get concerned until 20 points... And she also said she didn't know why lead is acceptable, but she said she is going to ask the pathologist because she thinks it's weird too. E Cunniculi test comes back tomorrow... I don't think he has it but you never know. I think he has bad genes... I mean he was the runt when his siblings are all 9.5lbs and he is 6! I tried to take him to another vet because I didn't know if they replaced the last amazing bunny vet, but this one is just as awesome! (Dr. Freilicher, and she is also a bunny dentist/ dental surgeon!) *Lol do actually the sleepy post had a long trail of random letters then a few rows of Zs... I do not recall being on my phone when I fell asleep so it was quite funny to discover!

So glad to gear Franz has come through everything okay. I do that snoozing while posting too. I'm dubious as to what my subconscious posts...I really should only do this while I'm fully awake! |
