Hi there. Just had a quick question. I recently learned that you can save a lot of money by using wood stove pellets as a little for your bunny. So I sent the boyfriend out to Lowe’s (super close and supposedly had them) and he found two different brands of 100% wood (no additive) pellets.

The two brands are Golden Fire and Sierra. The wood used is Douglas Fir … not sure if that’s toxic or not. I can post pictures of the bags in a bit, but maybe someone will have an immediate input.

Just hoping to save! They’re 5$ for a full 40 lb bag which is AMAZING.

        Thanks for any input!

I’ve used a couple different brands from Lowe’s. As long as there are no accelerant, they should be fine.

They’re 100% wood. I just didn’t know if “Douglas Fir” was a safe wood for them.

Yes, that’s fine. The way wood stove pellets are processed eliminates the harmful phenols in the fir and pine type woods (which make pine shavings bad for them).
