I went to the feed store nearby as the other one is about an hour away, they dont know what kind of hay they have ! I kid you not .

So my question is,can they have any kind ? As long as it isnt alfalfa ? I think its a mixed hay according to them, but they said they had no idea . Its only $7 a bale which is GREAT compared to buying a $6 tiny bag that lasts a week!  I hope I can use this "unknown" hay lol

I really have never heard of a hay they cannot have. Alfalfa is ok in small amounts anyways, but they likely won't sneak you alfalfa as it's more expensive and easy to tell. So if it looks good, smells good and is horse quality I'd go for it Should be fine

Thats good to know because the hay I'm getting right now is very dry and don't seem fresh so I was also wondering if I could be buying one of the other kinds
