I got the final go ahead from my Dad, and Apollo will definitely be mine. I’m very excited to welcome him to the family! But anyway, obviously, with just 4 weeks to go, I need to start getting things together to build his condo. So, I went to my local Bunnings and asked them if they stocked grids. They weren’t that helpful, and just said no. There are several other Bunnings I have access to that I’m going to ring up, but if they don’t stock them, where else can I go? I know there aren’t many WA members here, but does somebody know of any websites I can order maybe…50 grids from? I know of Amazon, but is there anywhere cheaper (besides eBay…) that you can give me info on?

If not, besides an xpen, what else can I house him in indoors?

        thanks everyone

Is “WA” Western Australia? (I’m sorry, not sure…) We have some Australian members who may be able to help if so.

I personally prefer an xpen, I feel that they are more sturdy and much, much easier to clean, but NIC condos are an option too.

I agree about the xpen, since they come in different heights, are not too heavy to move, and can be folded to accommodate different spaces and sized. You may want a square one now, but if you moved in a few years and needed it long and skinny, it could be reshaped to fit for example.

A ready made cage that has a plastic bottom and NOT wire bottom is often a good choice, as long as it is really roomy. I had a 4’x4′ one with a couple of platforms for different levels that Spockie loved. I only switched to an xpen for Samantha because she never climbed so I wanted her to have more floor space instead, and it got harder to clean the bottom of the cage without a big set tub available in my apartment. I really like xpens now.

Oh, I don’t know if Walmart ships to you, but they sell grid sets. I would think the weight would make the shipping super expensive, though. Jerseygirl is Aussie, and has had her bunnies for years. She may be able to recommend some more local resources. I would PM her via the message center.

                  Hi bunnygirl
“NIC” grids are either hard to find in Australia, expensive or not great quality. Ones I’ve gotten hold of before we’re plastic coated and not very rigid.

Bunnings do have a product called Garden Storage Cube that is 4 metal panels for $25. I’ve zip tied these together to make pens before. You could fashion a condo out if them also i guess.
                  The panels are 90x70cm.

Otherwise (as suggest), invest in a good xpen with tall sides. They are easy for cleaning up and easily transportable when you want or need to set Apollo up elsewhere. Plus you can get in the pen and hang out with them.

Conclusion: Australia is crap for finding NIC grids, and xpens are the way to go! Hehe! I’ve done some more research, and I want an xpen more now! Thank you everyone x
