Hello everyone! I am new to bunnies, and Gordon is the first bunny I have had in my life. A coworker of mine rescued him and handed him over to us just after a month, once he was eating solid food. I do not know what breed he is, so if anybody has some ideas I would be delighted to hear them! I am also curious if he is a wild rabbit, as he doesn't seem quite like the usual domestic breeds I have seen, though I am unsure.

Gordon is just over a month old, male, and has not been neutered yet because of his age. He likes Alfalfa hay and can poop over a hundred times in a single day (a feat which amazed me). He does not like being picked up yet, and will try to run and jump away initially. However, after getting a hold on him he settles down and will calmly be pet and held. I hope he comes to accept me (and my girlfriend) as loving owners.

I am a full time college student majoring in Computer Science and live with my girlfriend. She got the bunny originally as a Birthday gift (for me). I have always wanted a rabbit, however it has been tricky as my mother is highly allergic. Fortunately, she seems to have accepted little Gordon for now!

I did a lot of bunny studying online and am still learning. I stumbled upon this forum and decided it would be a great place to introduce Gordon to new (virtual) friends and learn a lot more about my bunny and I. We hope we can be accepted as adorable members of the community!

Welcome! Are you sure your mom is allergic to your bun and not the hay? A lot of people are actually allergic to the hay and not the bun. =p

I'm allergic to rabbits too! But that clearly hasn't stopped me, haha. I'm not sure on the breed. Gordon looks like a bush bunny (aka a wild rabbit) but I am no expert on rabbit breeds. He's a cutie though! Also, I'm Glad to read that you're doing your homework and reading up on bunny care =)

Yes I thought he looked wild too, but still I am not positive!

She is allergic to the bunnies; she used to have one. It isn't just bunnies, though... she is allergic to just about everything. Even I am a little allergic to the hay, it makes me sneeze when I handle it sometimes.

Honestly it's hard to tell from the color because he can be an agouti. There was a really great video that one of the members had posted a while back that showed the difference between the breeds. Could you post a better picture? Of her legs or face?

That is definitely a wild baby Cottontail rabbit. Please see my other post to you in the Rabbit Q&A section, where I gave you some information on wild rabbits.
