  How crazy do gardeners go over bunny poop? When is bunny poop season popular for gardeners? I’ve been wondering, since I use it for plants of mine. I should have asked this in spring ,but it just occurred to me.

  Bunny poop is popular because it is the only animal manure that can be placed directly on plants without composting it first. Other manures are too strong and will burn plants, so they can’t be used fresh.
  
  I’ve read that rabbit manure contains four times more nutrients than cow or horse manure, and two time the nutrients of chicken manure. It can be worked into garden beds at any time of the year. At the Sanctuary where I volunteer, we have a lot of rich garden beds due to all the bunny poop.

  I was also thinking about selling some of my bun’s poo to gardeners. I just have no clue how to go about selling it.

  craigslist works. I have seen many postings for bunny poop on there lol.

  Fall should actually be a good time for people to want fertilizer. When winterizing a garden it’s common to mix in a bunch of compost so that it’s ready to go in the spring. I know I’ll be mixing a lot of bunny poop from the compost pile into my garden as soon as the frost kills the remaining plants.

  I think anytime. It’s a fertilizer and can be a mulch also.
  
  I think you should market it as “Black Otter Rabbit Poo” to get top dollar.

  LPT, no no Just to help with the cost of things here. Chacha’s living costs are just fine. A friend of mine bought up the idea that I should save her poops, put them in a small plastic bag, and put a label with Chacha’s face on it. I thought of a name for it, and to sell it to gardeners in my area. Not many people know the excellent benefits of rabbit poo.

  Tanlover, haha. I’ve used Chacha’s poo in plants that I’ve grown for her. It makes a great mulch and it eventually turns into soil.

  I used lots of bunny poos in my garden this summer. I just threw them on. They are like slow release fertilizer because as they break apart with watering, it releases nutrients into the soil. And most of what I planted actually grew this year!

  I also like leaving the hay and litter mixed in. One, it’s much easier than separating out poop, but two, it provides a great mulch to prevent weed growth and hold in moisture.

  Genius! I planned on using this to fertilize our lawn next year since we’ll have our own to take care of but the idea of selling it! great! You know I already sell so many different things… lol

  Another arrangement people can try negotiate is give the poos to someone that is fab at growing veggies in exchange for said veggies. Or the plants from thinning out or leaves that’s not normally harvested etc. Like the broccoli leaves.
