we tried a neutral area sectioned off today and at first eveything seemed ok. well a few moments later Chipmunk full out attacked Hazel, and hazel ran strait to me so I reached down to pick him up and Chipmunk grabbed my hand and tore a CHUNK out of it. I now have 12 stiches at the base of my thumb just above the wrist, but good news is no bunny was hurt. I don’t understand, just a week ago they were fine together, and one day after they got neutared it has been nothing but war, , I guess I will just have to be patient and wait and see what happens. just so dissapointed today

ok the dr said I might have a little nerve damage too, since I cant feel the tip of my thumb. I should have known better… feel like a dumby now.

thank you, I will live, I am more confused about the boys and why they are acting like this.

Sorry about the thumb, I have been bunny chomped (but nothing that bad) and know how painful it is, that must be excrutiating.
I think you answered your own question about Chipmunk and Hazel. This close to post neuter they are probably still a little rattled and uncomfortable and their hormones still running rampant. Probably a bit like male rabbit menopause. I think I would give them a few weeks to settle before proceeding.

Oh Ouch! That must have hurt. When you start bonding again you might want to wear gloves! I have heard that sometimes rabbits have a different “smell” After they are neutered, so that might be it!

Pfffft! Well who ever made up that rule hasn’t been bitten by a rabbit before. Hope it heals up well.

A break is a good idea. Gives time for their hormones to level out post-neuter.

So did they begin fighting in their habitat also?

I havee actually read they can have a testosterone surge after neuter just from having the testicles handled. Not sure how common that is. But those hormones will deplete so wont have to deal with that throwing things outta whack.

I’ve been meaning to ask if you know their breed mix? They have a similar body shape to my TimTim whose mix I don’t know. Though he’s a bit more filled out now at age 1 1/2.
                      Possibly mini Rex cross something?
They’re gorgeous anyway. Love the agouti rabbits.
