I am TRYING to plan a Halloween party but I am having a bit of trouble.  =O  I am trying to make it the most inexpensive, yet awesome looking party I've had.  (I've only had one other Halloween party xD) I can't seem to find many things/ideas that are inexpensive or cool looking IMO.  I found some things on pinterest but not too many things on google or anything.  Is anyone experienced with Halloween parties?  Can you give me tips?  It's an adult party.

Are you looking for decoration ideas too? You can make cute skeletons out of milk jugs.

Do you have a theme? I always wanted to have a murder mystery party!

I LOVE the idea of a murder mystery party, like Mocha suggested.

Oh that would be fun! But you would need enough people willing to be in on it.

I am looking for mostly decorations! LOL I am thinking Walmart and the Dollar store are going to be my best friends for finding inexpensive decorations. =P

I don't really have a theme but nothing vampire. I do like gore so anything gorey would be cool. Murder mystery I know my friend would love but I'll talk to her about it. It would take a lot of planning for that one though. Something just simple, I guess. I am going to have our ping pong table set up and MAYBE have some darts later in the night when people go home because I would need to close the garage for that. I will have music, but I don't know what else to do to entertain my guests! I know ping pong/beer pong will entertain people for a while...But I don't know if I can use the ping pong table for beer pong...People aren't the most considerate at parties anymore, heck I don't know if they ever were. =O

ummmm, I am going to have a punch bowl with some gummy eyeballs and worms in it and maybe an ice hand.

I've been making a list of things I need. I need to calculate all this so I know how much I am going to need to spend.

It's been a while since I have planned a party or even gone to a party!

The Martha Stewart magazine is actually GREAT for cheapish decorations, if you have time to make them. When I had a Halloween party a few years ago, a friend did some paper cutouts of witches and cats and pumpkins etc and they looked great on the walls.

I have really nerdy friends so usually our parties consist of movies/video games/board games. Board games can work out pretty well as party games if you have a smaller crowd, plus you can probably put on a movie for people not interested in that. Add that to the ping pong/beer pong and it's probably enough to keep people entertained for a good while. HTH

I've been looking at Martha Stewart's website but haven't really found anything I liked. I'll look more though.

Since I am not sure who is going to show up and how many people...AND the party will be outside I don't think board games will work out...or a TV...Although I have thought of putting a TV outside. lol I don't want my board games being destroyed though. haha

I bought some cool things from the 99 cent store and kmart. My mom said it's okay to have the party but then I had to make sure with my dad (since I live with both my parents still) and he said no and was being a big meanie about it so I have to try and convince him tonight again. He doesn't trust one of my friends and I made the mistake of saying she would be inviting friends and he just did not like that. booooo. Oh well. I will have the party. I know I can convince him. I was really looking forward to this. I never do anything like this so it's exciting for me! haha

Here's what I did foodwise for a party last year:

Eyeball Cakepops

Black Halloween Punch, with ice hand. Did not turn out very black for me.

Mock liver pate (done in a brain mold, lightly brushed with cherry jam)
