Hi, I'm planning on making a condo for Penny. My brother gets the wood for me but I don't know what kind it is. I'm wondering if anyone know what kind of wood it is just by looking at a picture. I'm really hoping that it'll be safe for Penny.

So apparently the wood is heat treated. Is that bad? I'm planning on putting linoleum over it anyways?

Should I use stairs instead of a ramp? Penny's scared of heights though. I read somewhere that if rabbits are scared of heights, going up and down stairs can be difficult. I have a great idea about making the side of the stairs into a hidey hole for her. The problem with the ramp is that I don't know how to cut the side on the 2nd level.

I would be careful. Even if it is heat treated it doesn't ensure that it isn't chemical treated. Chemically treated wood has arsenic in it which is really bad for buns. So, you would want to make sure you don't get wood that is not chemically treated. It is perfectly okay to get kiln (heat) dried wood. If you were to get pine, it's only safe to have around buns if it's kiln dried.
