Okay guys, I’m freaking out!  Rascal and Valentine came home last night.  Rascal has barely eaten a thing today!!  I know it’s probably my fault because I was supposed to get his teeth trimmed a couple months ago and now I’m afraid they are buggin’ him!  I am going to make a vet appt for the week.  I am going to TRY and make one for Monday.  I am going to call early on Monday and hope they have an opening early that morning because my mom has to work and I don’t drive.  (It’s starting to get annoying to rely on people to drive me around when i’m 21!) I know when they stop eating it’s not good.  I am so worried!  My stomach is all jumbled!

The most I have seen him eat today was a little nibble of hay and then a little nibble of salad.  =(  No pellets.  I asked my sister if she saw him eat and she said no.  She was in there all day.  Valentine was the only one eating today!  So scary!!!

I wish vets were open on Sundays!  I don’t want to take him to the ER.  If things get worse I will have to.

Anything I can do to make him comfortable in the mean time?  I am not even sure it’s his teeth, I am just assuming.

Do you have any Critical Care? Or maybe some mashed up pellets.
The teeth trim is probably a good idea so I hope you get in soon.

No I don’t. But he just got up from the spot he was in most of the day and ate some pellets. Now he is laying with valentine. It was suggested to me to get some infant gas drops so I’m going to get that and see if that helps him. Still thinking it may be his teeth. Hopefully things will be better this week and hopefully things are better tomorrow not worse. If he still isn’t eating much tomorrow he’s going to a vet tomorrow.

Crush up some pellets and add some water for texture (a touch of apple juice to encourage eating if you want) to make your own Critical Care (think baby food texture, so that he can eat it without too much tooth pain). I would also offer herbs, like mint, which would have that extra smell to entice him to eat through the teeth pain. Also, mint has a soothing effect on the stomach.

Has he eaten yet? He might just be a bit stressed out from all the moving around.

If it’s dental problems you will most likely have to drop him off for the dental work to be done – are you able to do that? Most vets usually do dental trims during their time that is scheduled out for surgeries (even though it’s not a surgery but it requires anesthesia).

I am going to get a second opinion on Rascals teeth. The woman I adopted him from that works for the rescue had him for a week and saw no problems so she is suggesting a second opinion which sounds like a good idea.

Good news though! I fed the buns pellets and salad this morning and Rascal got up and hopped around and ate some! =) I am so relieved! I think he must have been hot or maybe he had a gassy stomach. I gave him some infant gas drops. Or tried to anyways and maybe that helped some? He sure perked up this morning though! Oh man was I worried! He’s my baby boy! I was so sick to my stomach. Glad he is fine this morning. Going to keep an eye on him, though.

I’m glad for the good news. Hopefully whatever was bothering him is over and done with. Good luck at the vet.
