I’ve found that Rascal really loves Orchard grass and really will only eat that kind.  He will eat timothy hay but not as much as he will with the orchard grass.  Valentine is kind of the same now.  My problem is…I can’t seem to find it anywhere for a good price!

Do you guys know where to order it online in like 15lb + boxes.  I found oxbow for 25lb but it was over $50.  Is that going to be my best bet?  Anywhere else that sells it that’s cheaper? I’d really love to get orchard the next time I get hay.  I don’t need it any time soon…Although I might just get some to mix with the timothy…idk if that’s a good idea though.

Mine would only eat that stuff too (I have to buy it fresh locally, or he won’t touch it), but I just got him going on botanical hay too. Just a thought, if you want to mix up the flavors. Mine will eat two piles of hay as big as him a day of those kinds, but won’t touch timothy.

Beka, occasionally they have their Bluegrass hay which is a hybrid bluegrass/orchard hay. She may not have any though at this point to sell. I’m not sure if it’s seasonal like the regular orchard. You can email her and ask her about it though. It’s a very nice hay.

Thanks! I am going to order some orchard soon. I might as well just donate the timothy hay since they are not really eating it and they need to eat hay!
