So recently I've been searching for twine to make Cinnabun some hanging toys and some tossing toys after I got a few ideas from budgetbunny.ca

Today at Wal-Mart I found "hemp chord" and it looks like what I've been searching for. It's un-dyed and there is nothing on the packaging about it being made from anything toxic. It's used for craft projects. But I thought I'd ask you guys if this seems ok for buns.

Also, bottle caps: I was going to thread this hemp through some bottle caps left over from jugs but I worry about Cinnabun bitting the caps. I'm not sure if she could break out little pieces of plastic or not, but websites I've looked at for bunny toys all talk about bottle caps so I was wondering if anyone else uses them?

Thanks guys.

I would be worried about the bottle caps too, but as for the hemp I use it for my bins and haven't had a problem (Knock on Wood)

One time I used a old plastic yogurt container to put Lola's food in and I looked over 15 minutes later and she had it shredded into little pieces. Luckily, she's fine - but unless they are hard plastic I wouldn't try it. Maybe soda bottle tops? Those are harder plastic that may be impermeable to rabbit chompers?

I've given Skipper old bottle caps to VitaminWater bottles and those that have been on the fabric softener bottle. She has not bitten off any plastic from the caps. She seems to like throwing it around more than chewing on it. So if I'm thinking it would be okay with your bun if they're not prone to obsessively nawing on plastic.

Also - since you are looking for cheap toys - Lola's new favorite toy is 2 Ball jar rings connected together with a plastic shower curtain ring. She LOVEEEES it. We have to take it away at night when we go to bed or else she is up all night clanging them trying to get our attention. Just a suggestion!

I posted a video below to show ya.  Just use the rings and attach them with a shower curtain.  Lola LOVES it.  Like - a little too much. I think it's the clangy noise.  She uses them to get our attention all the time.

Cute, great toy idea
I think hemp should be fine too, as long as its not treated with anything. I have some & it looks just like what is on a toy I bought my bunny.
