Felix has stared using his food dish as his litter box. And I know bunnies usually do poop in their food dishes, but he’s been peeing and pooping in there so much I have to change his food n water 15+ times a day. He has a litter box in his cage. I have tried moving his food bowl to different spots and everything! His food dish is tiny compare to his litter box so I don’t understand why he keeps ping in there :/ because the food dish is so small he is peeing off the side and it is getting on my carpet
        Any help please?

          What size is his cage?

My buns now will only use one type of litter and it has to be packed down flat in his litter box for him to go there. That may be one option… (He uses Carefresh)

When my buns is full and stuck in his cage, he will attempt to toss his food out of the cage. Could he maybe be peeing on it to get rid of the food smell? Maybe offer less food and give him more later?

After moving the food dishes, did you put the litter pan in that spot?
If you could load up some pix of his habitat, litter pan and food dishes we may be able to see the problem.

Offhand I’d say after moving around the dishes and litter pan, maybe try a much smaller food dish that’s very low sided so he can eat out of it comfortably but not be able to climb into it at all.

Not sure if this will hep — but do you have a food dish that he can move or is it one that is attached to the side of the cage? I ask because my buns will poop in their veggie dishes when they are finished eating them and knock the bowls all over the cage but for their food dishes we had to get the ones that attach to the side of the cage since it’s the only way they’re not flinging them around. I know if you got one of the ones like that then you could move it farther up so he can’t even fit his little rump in there! If I remember correctly, they only cost about $5 at PetSmart or PetCo.

I got one of the large attach to cage ones Everything seems to be going well now. He uses it just as he’s supposed to! But now I gotta figure out how to get him from sleeping in his water XD (although it is quite adorable ^_^ )

                    LOL Yes, that IS adorable!
So glad a change of litter pan did the trick. It’s usually something simple like that.

What is it with water dishes this week? For 2 nights now, Sammy has dragged her water dish out to the middle of her house. And drinks from there. With a totally soaked nose from dragging and splashing. Silly bunnies.

                        Thanks ^^
& he has two water bowls on each side of his cage. The one in the picture he lays in, and the other one he likes to knock over -__-
