What is the best type of nail clippers/trimmers for a bunny? I have a dwarf holland lop. Her nails are light colored, clear and the quick is well visible. I used regular clippers on her. She is able to sit calmly and doesnt squirm.

I searched online and found few types of clippers: scissor type, guillotine and plier type. Some have safety bars and some have springs in them. Which one would be the most suitable for the small bunny? Best brands?

Scissor type definitely. Have better control with those.

            Hey,

I do not know if you can get these because I live in France but maybe you could order them. It is called yellow line. I do not like there brushes and combs but I like there nail clippers.

I just use the scissor type made for bunnies. Need to replace them soon, they are getting dull.

I like the scissor type too. The ones I bought were specifically made for small pets, but those made for cats work well too.

Can you use normal nail clippers for humans or does that break their nails?

I use a small pair that is made for cats. It was less than half the cost of the same thing that was for rabbits. The sales person let me know about the cheaper option. She said she had rabbits too.I’ve used the same pair for 8 yrs now.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I ended up ordering a scissor type Ultimate Touch Cat Claw Clipper by Four Paws. It had many high customer ratings. Will see how it works.
