I want to build something similar to this for my rabbits but the question is how will I keep up with the cleaning??  Will it be too hard to clean?  Should I stick to my original plan of making a regular sized condo and having it set up with my x-pens?

Wow, that does look pretty amazing! You're right though..it looks like cleaning might be a problem for something like that. I'd go with the ex pen/NIC setup, and I'm sure your bun would be more than happy .

We have 3 NIC Cube habitats we built, and I have not had any cleaning problems. And my bunnies love their homes.

Blue and Baby's cage

Hazel and Chipmunk's cage

and Mr. Hopper and Nibbles Cage

I like to be able to take the xpen off their rug completely to vacuum. Otherwise, I have a hard time getting the fur that collects along the bottom. For that reason I wouldn't like a NIC condo, but I know others swear by them. It's really depends on you and whether or not you want it to be fully mobile.

I make doors that open in mine, and they are built off a platform with casters underneath so I can move them to clean them. :-)

Yeah, I know some people make platforms, but are you able to move the condo walls off the platform to clean the base?

hmmm, maybe I will just stick with my pens lol. I dunno. I might give the condo a try who knows. I really like the look and I know Rascal likes to hop on things so I dunno maybe he would like it. I just would like something simple to clean. I can somewhat easily clean the pens by just moving them. They can be a pain though. I think I am just going to make a small condo and attach it to the pens when the bunnies are bonded and see how that works.

Maybe another option is just a simple tower placed inside the pen that could be easily lifted by you to clean under. I'm thinking 1x3 NIC grids, but 4 or 5 levels.
