So, you may or may not have read this thread but my bun Roger has been having some problems with GI Stasis. He was fed hourly last night, started eating small amounts on and off this morning (hay, carrot, spring greens and some pellets) but stopped again at maybe 1 or 2pm. He was active earlier in the day. He then worsened towards the evening at about 7pm my wife attempted feeding him with limited success, at about 7.30 I fed him more successfully and continued to feed him approximately hourly until 11pm. I made up half the bag of Recovery Plus and he had almost the entire portion – and probably would have kept eating if my wife hadn’t suggested that we go to bed and not to stuff him.

Since then, he’s been digging into his hay and eaten nearly an entire cos lettuce lead, after his most recent feed he was eating about as normally as he usually does (hay, veg) except that he hasn’t touched his pellets.

He’s being given painkillers 2-3x per day, too. I have

I have university tomorrow from 9-4 without breaks long enough to come home. This means I would be away, most likely, from 8:30 to 4:30/5. Is that too risky?

I think you should be fine if you can get a really good feed in just before you go. Watch to see what he is doing and if he is eating something then between that and the hand feed he should be fine for that period of time. I work full time too so I had to leave mine during the day with no one to do extra feeds but they were fine once they started to nibble.

Ah, thanks for the advice. I think you’re right – as it happens, I slept straight through my alarms so he ended up going even longer than that overnight.

Seemed interested in his pellets for breakfast too.

So annoying as the module I missed is the one I’ve most looked forward to!

I think you are OK-he sounds to be eating a bit on his own, so make sure lots of good stuff is there, feed him before you go and when you get back
