        Hey all,

It’s been about 2 months since I got Yavin and he’s all litter trained! He’s exclusively going in his two litter boxes and I couldn’t be happier. My problem come up after I bought him a bed for his 5×5, just something small and soft that he can flop on because I have linoleum tiles on the floor of his pen to help with cleaning and whatnot. He loves to pee and poo on his bed! It’s really annoying because he ends up laying in his pee and then I have to vinegar and wash his bed. If I take the bed out of the pen, he goes in his litter boxes like nothing happened. Is there anything I can do to make him not do that? Any advice would be a huge help. Thanks guys!

A lot of bunnies seem to like using their beds as potties. Only thing is to take it out

I agree with Monkeybunny – take out the bed.

I like how the title says odd peeing problem. This is pretty common. Buns like to pee on soft things for some reason.

Thanks for the input guys, Looks like Yavin will have to go bedless for a while! Maybe I’ll try again in a month or so.

That happened to my bun Peter too! I made him an awesome cute bed and he would use it as a litterbox, then sleep in it! I had to take it out!

Oh~ my two had the same problem. I actually forgot the beds and just folded up some fleece to make a nice square. Mine love it!

My bunny was raised with 2 cats and learned quickly on her own to use the cats litter box.  When the cats moved out she continued to use the litter box. But then about 5 months ago she started peeing all over her cage.  I can’t keep it clean, as soon as I wipe it down and vinegar it she pees all over.  She is also starting to poop everywhere but her litter box.  It stays completely clean.  She has a 4 story condo and even though she has the litter boxes on 2 floors she poops everywhere but in them.

What should I do? I don’t want to put her back into her little pet store cage but I can’t keep up with her peeing everywhere but her litter box.  She is even spraying on the walls of our house which she has never done before!

Bunnies love to pee & poop in their beds.  This became an issue in my home when they started to do it to the cat’s beds.  Cats do NOT like pee & poop where they sleep.  I had to keep the buns contained and supervised to negate this problem.

Sir:  I agree w/ LBJ is your bunny spayed/neutered?

My bun, Bindi, is fine with blankets and furry mats but when I offered him a cat bed he kept peeing in it. Weird bunnies.
