My rabbits can’t seem to figure out how to use this bottle. Any suggestions on training them to use it? I love the cleaning & ease of use.

        Thanks

Is that just a regular kind of water bottle with balls in the spout? My rabbits actually prefer that kind, but there are many that simply won’t drink from a bottle and need a bowl instead.

I personally don’t like bottles. they are harder to clean, really. And you need to give fresh water every day anyway, so a bowl is much easier. Shouldn’t let water sit in the bottle, as it can get slimy and icky.

Have you tried holding it by her when she’s out of her cage and then touching it with your finger and to your nose. Our buns love it when we hold it up for them outside (it’s like they know we’re catering to their every need/want). If your bun is close to you, I would try mimicking it with your finger and touching it to her nose so she can see it’s wet. Rabbits are mind-blowning smart when they want to be!

Water bowls are often knocked over in their pen…plus tobey can’t figure out how to drink from the bowl. The lixit bottle doesn’t have a ball, it has a stem. I have a hard time getting close to my beasts since they hate me…or at least not really cuddle beasts. Ill try the close/face thing, but if anyone has ideas w/ the lixit, lmk.
                Thanks

The kind with the stick is a lot more difficult for them to figure out. Wooly refuses to use that one. Could you maybe put a little something on the end to encourage them? Like banana or something?

I used a craisin and they both just ran up to it, grabbed it, and ran off.  I’ll try some banana, maybe the mushiness will be good.  They just can’t seem to figure out the stick thing, though neither can be husband (I MEAN THAT LITERALLY NOT FIGURATIVELY).

                    Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, I was thinking something mushy that would need to be licked off.
