My bunny has just got up after having a long sleep and i noticed she’d pee’d and not moved at some point during this time.  Her feet and tail are wet and some fur on her bum – I’m not sure about underneath because she hates being picked up and just struggles so I don’t want to stress her out.  I was wondering if this will cause any problems or if she’ll just clean herself and be fine?  I’m probably just being a paranoid new mum but I want to double check, thanks!

She should be fine. If it occurs frequently it could cause urine scald but that is usually only the case for disabled rabbits or rabbits with UTI’s.

She may have fallen asleep and peed but not woken up. My bunny doesn’t like to be picked up except when she is ill, so first you can try doing it to see if she will let you, which may indicate a little health issue.
Probably she will run away, in which case you can attempt to slip a paper towel under her back end to soak up any pee, or just wipe up the spill that she’s left. Yes, she will clean herself so if your litter pan is fresh she should be fine without any additional bathing. Clean out her litter in case she was not going there on purpose (I call that protest pee when they do it somewhere they’re not supposed to because you waited too long to clean their stuff).

Just keep an eye on her to see if she does it again, has trouble getting into the litter pan, or has stray soft poos or cecals. You’re watching for loss of bladder control, which needs a visit to the vet.

If it was an isolated event, I wouldn’t worry. If it starts happening frequently, a trip to the vet to rule out a UTI would be a good idea. How is she acting?

She seems normal, she did at the time too I was just being paranoid. It’s all dry now and she’s hoping around quite the thing exploring my room. I’ll watch out for it happening again but I’m thinking she was maybe just feeling a little lazy earlier on!!

Bunnies are normally very clean so that’s a bit strange, but things happen! If there is even a second episode i’d get to the vet to see if there is something going on. In the meantime once dry I’d give a good brushing to the bum so you know if it happens again.
