Hi everyone, long time reader of the forums but new poster!

I recently just lost my 3 month old dutch rabbit to neurological illness, and we just welcomed a new 4 month old Dwarf/Lop mix into our home yesterday (still unnamed as of yet, though!). He was a bit reluctant to eat at first but now he’s ok and is having normal bowel movements. However, we find that he isn’t drinking a whole lot and he hasn’t urinated in 24 hours. Anyone have any advice? We have a bottle for him as well as a dish if anyone is curious.

try some wet greens. If that doesn’t work bring him to the vet.

I would call up a vet, it isn’t good if he isn’t drinking and peeing.

Any update on your baby bun?

You always want to have a baseline exam for a new bunny, and with a reason to take him in I would do that immediately. Make sure he knows how to use the water bottle spout, and that the sides of the dish of water aren’t too high to reach over to drink. But not peeing is not good, especially if you’ve been giving him wet greens.

                  Hello guys,

Thanks for the concern and the suggestions! It’s been a busy week and I couldn’t give an update, I think it was more or less just adjusting to his new home as he quickly started drinking *and* peeing all over the place.

My bunny did the same when I first brought her home but after the first day or so she was drinking and she’s fine now Glad your little man is the same!

I almost want to post somewhere: bunnies need 2 days in a new home before any semblance of normal behavior will happen. Don’t worry!
Very glad to here he’s fine.
