I myself live in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, but we do own a lake house in Conover Wisconsin which is about a half hour drive to Rhinelander, and here in the Fox Valley is K&R Small Animal Sanctuary (here's their Facebook page; http://www.facebook.com/KRSmallAnimalSanct and their website; http://www.krsmallanimalsanctuary.com/ ) Perhaps I could plan a trip to the lake house and bring the buns back home on the trip back? I don't think my mother would let me keep another few buns but I don't think she would mind if I brought some on the return trip, please let me know!

Hi Mocha,
Our local Rabbit Rescue has foster homes scattered about over a several hundred kilometre radius, so if they can't get to an animal in need one of their fosterers or rescuers can. Its a good system. We currently have a bunny in foster care south of Perth but she will eventually travel to Collie which is in the Southern part of the state 230 kilometres away from the main rescue.
So what is need now is to contact all of the Rescue organisations and see if any have a foster home in the area or close enough for reasonable transport. I would contact both the WHRS and the shelter that Emily Sue has recommended. Explain the situation and that you hope to find the buns a home but need a contigency plan or a safe place to take them following the camp closing for the season.

Just to chip in seeing as how I know MI. Great lakes Rabbit Sanctuary is in Willis, MI which is way to far from the U.P. There is a rescue in the U.P. though.

While trying to find that rescue I mentioned, I ran across the MI HRS page and they have a contact in the U.P. here is the link and her email is at the bottom of the page http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MI167.html.

Okay so my search for the rescue I heard of in the U.P. is not successful. They may have had to close due to insufficient funds. I'll keep looking too but the person on that link I gave listed in the U.P. might be able to provide a good solution since she is familiar with the area.

Thanks guys! K&R Small Animal Sanctuary is where I took the rabbit last year so I am very familiar with them... That would be my top pick to go.

I wont know if I will be re homing the bunnies until after I go to camp so I will let you know in two weeks.
