Hello there.. I am new to rabbit and new to this forum

so I had my 12 weeks old non-neutered bunny for about a month now and it have been free roaming in my bedroom for a while under supervision..

originally he would poop in the litterbox in the cage.. but few days ago I got him a new larger cage and he refuse to use the litterbox but a corner of my bedroom… I have to lock him in the cage when I go to school or sleep.. and he would hold all the stuff and wait until I open the cage to let him rush to the corner (or he would smash the cardboard house to get my attention)… I thought about moving his cage to that corner but its not possible… Is there a way that can teach him to use the litterbox again? he surely will get seriously sick for holding the stuff for at least 8 hours straight every day…

        Many thanks…

Welcome! Pick up the poops and put them in his litter box, and I’ve also heard that when they pea to soak it up in a paper towel and put it in his litter box. Your bunny may also be going through the “adolescent” stage, and will probably need to be neutered soon. Most vets will do it betwen 4-6 months.

            thanks for the reply

yes I am thinking about taking him to get neutered..

I do pick his poops and soak the pee and put in the box… maybe he no longer wants to sleep eat and poop in the same place??

At 12 weeks, the reason he isn’t using the litter box now is because he’s all hormonal and marking. Neutering should fix that
