        HI

I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

I have a female rabbit, and have had her for just over a year, she is usually quite sociable, eg coming out of her hutch, running around our feet.

The past month she hasnt come out of her hutch, and if she does its only for 5 seconds and then she goes back in, she is eating and drinking normally, but is stamping her foot a bit more often.

        Please Help

Has she been desexed? It could be territorial behaviour, females can be very protective of their ‘area’, which may also be why she is stomping when you go near her hutch. The stomping could be a warning as in ‘this is my space, do not come in!!”

no she hasn’t been desexed, she doesn’t stomp when we go near her hutch its just if we haven’t spoken to her for a while or she hears something on the telly she doesn’t like. its just the fact that she doesn’t come out of her hutch, even tho she did before

I’ve got a biter. Miss Nermal isn’t content to nip she draws blood. Now 6.5 months she is 2nd in line for sterilisation, I have 4 little girls Mum and 2 are still bonded but Nermal was adopted and returned and her behavior is pretty appalling. I’m hoping once everyone is fixed I can rebond the warren and nermal can fit in with the rest. She seems OK with the others, well, border line with Blossom but just OK with her Daddy Piglet and Mummy Pepper was washing her nose through the Xpen bars today. BUT Pipi is missing clumps of fur from battles between the bars However Pipi did start it with a rear attack and a mouth full of Nermal butt fur.

                Welcome!!

The first step would be spaying. The incidence of different kinds of cancer is extremely high in rabbits especially female ones. Also behaviourally she is likely to be tempermental if not spayed. Also this change in behaviour could mean she is not feeling well, so I would say take her to the vet for her annual exam to see if anything is wrong and you could discuss a spay with the vet while you are there. If there are changes in behaviour that are sudden, it’s a must to rule out illness before trying to see what might be behaviourally wrong.

                Keep us posted!
