Just wanted to say hi and introduce mybunny.  His name is Scat and he is about a year old, I have had him for one week and so far over all things have been pretty good.  I have had to  reconfigure his pen a few times because he has been escaping, hopefully i can find an x pen either on craigslist or at yardsales this weekend.  Right now he has a 40x18in cage inside a 4x3.5 pen made of a disasebled/re engineered feret cage (hey it was free). Scat is a 5 lb bunny with black otter coloring (looks just like chacha). not sure of the breed. I got him off of craigslist from a family that decided they no longer had time for him.  I felt so bad taking him, the kids were fine, but Mom was in tears. Fortunately he was well loved and handled so its just a matter of getting him to bond to me and slowly allowing him more and more room to run.    He is not to thrilled with me right now, we had our first vet visit today and not only did he have to endure an hour car ride each way, he had earmites so he got a shot.  (dont tell him he is getting neutered next month, he will never speak to me again).  He has been pretty good about returning to his cage to do his business but i put in a litterbox today, hoping begin training him to use a smaller area and he doesnt seem too thrilled with the idea. so we will see, may just end up keeping whole cage as litter box if i have to.

I have already learned alot from reading posts her over the past week and just wanted to say HI.

 

Hello! Scat sounds like he's in good hands. Chacha will want to see pictures to see if he can become her next boyfriend

Scat just gave me his first binky (or5).  One of the biggest problems for scat with play time has been I have hardwood floors and he slips, today at yardsales i found a 4x6ft sisal rug with cloth border.  It is UGLY and stained but it provides great bunny traction and i dont care when he starts digging/chewing (there are several loops sticking up where he has pulled on the "rope").  I layed it on  the floor and once he figured he could run without slipping he started binking like crazy.  best dollar i ever spent!! 

Awesome! Just make sure he doesn't eat any. My Bunjamin will so he doesn't get any long fiber rugs (he doesn't bother short fiber so much). Binkies are like the best thing ever! I can't get enough of them
