Usagi is getting neutered in a few weeks.  After he gets neutered will his litter habits improve?  I would love for him to be more of a free range rabbit, but right now when I let him run around for awhile he leaves poos everywhere.  I know he’s trying to”mark his territory, and I’m pretty sure this will stop after he gets neutered, is that correct?

        Thanks!

Depends on the bunny. You have to wait a month or so after the neuter and slowly work him up to free range. Pick up droppings as he makes them and put them into his litter box.

I would definitely wait a month or two and let the hormones settle after the neuter. As for going free range, take it slowly. Free range is not for every bunny, and you have to watch how your bunny reacts to certain situations. Also, rabbit proof, rabbit proof, rabbit proof!

I do know that after my buns were neutered (and it happened very quickly) they have almost completely stopped pooing outside the litter box. Now its very rare to find poos out and about after they’ve been running around. Before they became hormonal, they had very good litter habits, so I was very excited to see them return to that after their surgeries. BTW, they are both doing great since their neuter!
