Does anyone use papaya fruit plus from Oxbow? I was thinking about adding it to my rabbit’s diet. I’ve read before that giving them pineapple is a good idea because it helps them digests hair balls better.

I use the plain papaya tabs by oxbow. The bunnies love them, 1 a day

I use the plus ones from oxbow. Do I actually think they do anything for digestion? No, not really. If they do, that still only ties them in place with craisins, which might help with urinary function. Does my bunny love them? YES!

Keep in mind that rabbits don’t actually get hair balls. If you really want to be proactive in preventing them, or more likely, stasis, make sure your rabbit eats lots of hay, stays hydrated, and has a good amount of daily veggies (which really helps with keeping them hydrated!). My guess is that the amount of pineapple or papaya tablets that would be needed in order to digest hairballs would be way higher than what a rabbit should eat on a daily basis.
