        Hello!
So as some of you might remember, me and bunjamin spend a couple weekends a month at my parents house. I even built him a second condo there. Well everytime I’m there I get a horrible allergy reaction. Well we figured out its gotta be something in the room I stay in. That’s when my mom tells me the other side of the wall has a mold problem. *facepalm*

So now my question is if the mold is affecting me through the wall could it be affecting bunjamin too. Because the corner his condo is in is the corner that bunjamins condo is in, just on the other side.

On another bad and crazy news about my parents house is that it’s infested with chipmunk(s) again in the basement where my room is there. The door is always closed, we clean it often bc of bunji and my allergies but now I have to be on high
Alert with bunjamin being down there bc I don’t want the chipmunk to infect bunjamin with any diseases.

So I’m open to advice. We’re moving my bed I another wall but I’m unsure we can mOve the condo and if I switch rooms bunjamin won’t be able to have any out time at all. I have to come back next weekend for 4 days to petsit for my parents. I swear my head is about to explode with all these allergies and me working all weekend during this stress

Anyone have any thoughts about if mold can cause health issues for a bun if it’s on the other side of the wall?

I suspect they totally would be affected by the mold. They have much more sensitive respiratory systems than we do. I would NOT have him in that room.

Also, form the point of view of someone who did renovations for a living… chances are, if one wall has a mold problem that is not dealt with, the mold will spread to the rest of the house. They need to get it fixed asap.

I don’t know much about the effects of mold.

An air filter might be useful for both of you in this situation. Additionally, the product “Damprid” can help remove moisture from the air and prevent mold growth. Sort of a cheap dehumidifier. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

We have an air filter. Thank goodness. The mold is on the brick outside the house (they have a walkout) and I have to look for myself to be sure where its at but my mom did tell me they were going to have it fixed. She just didn’t have the extra income for it because it’s going to cost thousands of dollars but let’s just say I applied some friendly pressure. We’re going to moving rooms though. I really just wanted to know if this something I should be evacuating bunjamin from right away. On a positive note they caught the chipmunk and humanly released him (on my request) but he peed all over my car :/

Mold can cause respiratory infections in other small animals, so I would assume it could in buns as well. You could call up your vet and ask them how bad mold would be for them. An air purifier and trying to keep as many mold spores out of the air as possible will help.

I’ll move the air filter closer where the mold is on the other side and we moved his cage farther away from that wall. I think I’ll be moving everything next week. Thanks for input
