so, peanut used to lick me all the time.  then, he started nipping me and i would pull my hand away and tell him no.  recently he’s been doing it a lot less, probably because he didn’t understand that i didn’t want him to nip me but still enjoyed the bunny kisses.  i have this sleep mask i use every night, and now he licks it obsessively.  i’ve read that bunnies will lick things that smell like you.  is that what this is?  he even does it if i put my hand out for him to lick.  i wonder what is going on in his head.

Refresh my memory-is he neutered? Often kisses and nips are mating behaviour so that may be what he’s doing though not the only explanation.

He’s marking and claiming you. Also, I think when they’re very young, the licking is comforting to them, as if they were licking their mother. They often do it obsessively with a favorite object, piece of clothing, toy or you. If you need to find a vet for him, now’s a good time to check them out, get a baseline exam and initial once over if he hasn’t been seen yet, and ask about when to schedule his neuter – it’ll be in about 2 or 3 months from the sound of his maturity now.
