Well, the title is kinda cute already :p

So, once a while I let my bun-bun run around my garden, he loves it!

And of course he poops on the grasses…

At first I thought it would be okay, since their poops are highly nutritious for plants…

But after a few days, some white stuff (fungi?) covers the poop… Is this dangerous?

Or is this part of the “breaking down” process?

Seriously, what do you do with their poops?

        Thanks!

Yup, just decomposing. Not that you want your bunny (dog/child/etc) to play near it during this process. So you might want to bury them, or put them in a part of the yard that no one goes.

And do be careful with your bunny outside. Birds of prey, dogs, cats, wild children, etc. Though if the garden is fenced, birds of prey are probably the biggest concern.

            thank you for the reply…

but how long does it take for decomposing? like in days or weeks? any way to speed this up?

i wanna use them for my garden

and no worries, my garden’s 99% safe…. 1% is for guest’s children who might grab him by the ear if left unsupervised…

It really depends on where and how your are decomposing the poo. Just out in the open is going to take longer. Where you live, and even where it is in your yard will also have an effect (sun/shade). The best way to compost seems to be to putting the poos in a larger pile of stuff, such as tree leaves, old fruit, etc. You can even add whatever litter your rabbit uses (wood stove pellets, carefresh, etc). Then I know you have to move the pile around sometimes. Hopefully someone who has more experience with this will be along shortly to help out more.

I just throw it out but in the summer I throw fresh poos on the lawn and garden.
