Lately in about the last month or so it sounds like my rabbit is taking, she makes a little noise I actually thought it was my daughter joking around making this noise, almost sounds like a tiny little cat meow, but a little deeper tone.  She is a fiesty rabbit that is for sure!  She is a large dewarf rabbit, but not over weight I think she must be a mixed breed.  She is not fixed, which i would think is some of her temper issues she is 2 years old.  It just sounds weird I almost thought maybe wheezing, but i got closer to her and its definately not wheezing and she acts fine and eating well, just never heard a rabbit do that

does it sound like ‘hmm mm, hmm mm?’ If so, that is honking. It is a love call.

Since your bunny is a female, I would advise to have her spayed when you can Females have an 80% chance of reproductive cancer

If she has a squished in nose, that might also contribute to the sound/vocalization. My bunny is quite noisy doing everything from eating to a deep sleep and it is based on how her face is shaped (not being overweight, which is also a possibility for creating extra noise, and before my girl slimmed down, she was much more noisy!).
I second getting her spayed though. It is pretty much a guarantee that girls get reproductive cancer by the time they are 5 years old. Spaying her now will not only prevent or get rid of what might have started to develop, but it might help her temper and make her a happier rabbit.

Some bunnies are just more vocal than others, so it sounds like that’s just normal for her.

And I agree with getting her spayed!

My female mini rex is vocal, she grunts and makes all sorts of little noises. Powder has growled at me. Bunnies makes a lot of noises and some of them do sound like cats.

Who knew bunnies are so vocal! lol I will look into getting her fixed I would like to have her be nice when we grab her out. Once she is out she is good but she is really hard to catch. She is a litter box trained rabbit she was like that when I got her so I guess we are blessed to have that 🙂 I sometimes wonder if she is not trying to make the same noise as my daughter lol my daughter is 12 and special needs and has a way with animals I almost think they speak the same language 🙂 She is big for a dewarf rabbit, but not over weight. We have just started getting her to eat out our hands, but we have a friend that was teaching us how to tame her cause she was not when we got her…. I guess the next question would be after we get her fixed should we get her a playmate?

I totally believe they talk to us!

Easiest way to get them in at night, put their salad or pellets in when you want them in Both my girls head to their homes at about 8pm because thats when I put their salads out. What kind of living space do they have? Sometimes if its too small they wont want to go in regardless of food

Rabbits don’t *need* a playmate if they have attentive slaves. However you can bond two, I suggest you check out the Bonding forum before you make any decisions though! It can be tough.

She has a lot of play area we have found she only will walk on grass, carpet and thats about it lol She loves cat toys like balls and the house we actually bought for the cat but the rabbit uses it not the cat, we have no problems getting her in her home, its getting her out is the problem, the only way to get her out is to walk away but once you walk in the room she runs right back in

I have a single girl rabbit, and she has been the only one in the household for 2 years. If your bunny gets a lot of attention, and shows no signs of loneliness (extreme destructiveness, etc), she should be fine on her own.

As for getting her out, don’t take her out. Let her come out on her own. Rabbits do not like being forced out of their houses. It is similar to a hawk grabbing its prey for a meal.
