so I noticed orange-ish pee the other day in Harley’s litter box and completely freaked out. I tried not to think the worst and just thought that maybe I gave him too many carrots so I cut back on his carrots. I haven’t given him any in a day or two and then i saw two more spots of orange pee today amid his normal pee. uuuuuuuuuuuh……the only thing I have changed in his diet was giving him Kale, where I hadn’t been before. I read somewhere that it’s not blood and usually just has to do with his food. I’m really not giving him too much Kale at all so Is it really just because he’s not used to eating it?? or should I stop giving it to him at all and just stick with what he’s used to?? I’d appreciate any thoughts or input!!

orange pee is totally normal, nothing to worry about He can continue to eat the same things he has been, no worries!

Bunny pee can range in color from clear to almost red. Especially when left for a while, it can turn some pretty odd colors. Orange is perfectly normal. Keep feeding him the good things like kale. One thing you can do to make sure he is getting enough water though is to leave the veggies wet after you wash them.

Most likely it was due to the kale. Here is a good article about urine color, though it focuses on red urine, it still is informative. http://www.rabbit.org/journal/3-1/red-urine.html
