         Hello everyone!

I’ve been trying to find new things to stimulate my bunnies brain and was trying to find a wicker basket she could she on and hide in and hop on and what not. I couldn’t find one, but I did find what I found out is called a “maize/corn basket.” I picked one that looked all natural and did not looked stained or lacquered and brought it home for her. She LOVES it, but I’m noticing that she’s actually eating it and not just chewing or shredding. This is the one I got: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/store/it…mId=168650 . Do you think it’s okay for her to eat it? There’s not much info to go on but by the title of it, I’m guessing it is made from some part of corn. It’s papery and stuff so I don’t know if it’s actual corn that it’s possibly made from or maybe the leafy husk part all dried out?

Opinions please!! Thanks so much in advance!!

Oh no! The link isn’t actually going to the basket… It changed it when I pasted it. I’ll just type it in… shop.hobbylobby.com/store/item.aspx?ItemId=168650 . And I didn’t go in intending to get the maize basket, but I thought it was kind of the same thing. And when I got home, I remembered wicker was more like wood than straw.

          Thanks guys!!

I wouldn’t let bun eat it. Even a basket that looks natural can have some sort of treatment on it. Also, I would avoid it since corn is not a recommended bunny safe food. I would stick to something made specifically for bunnies. Wicker baskets/hideaways are not that expensive and a lot of pet stores have them or you can get them online.
