In extreme cases like incontinence and illness, baths can be used to clean a bunny, but baths are not recommended otherwise. Unlike some other pets healthy bunnies do not need bathing at all…they’re great at keeping themselves clean. Soaking in water could cause hypothermia, not to mention stressful ways of drying them off. Just sit back and watch them clean themselves; it’s darn cute anyways .

Some issues with giving a bath, though it might be cute, is that they get really cold, think about how cold you are when you get out of the bath-but you dry off quickly and get dressed. Instead, they are sitting in soaking wet clothes for hours It’s not uncommon for them to shiver for a long time after a bath. Rabbits are very much like cats in that it’s not necessary to bath them but also it’s not enjoyed by them and certainly not good stress/temperature wise for them. You could easily end up with a sick bunny after a bath.
In an emergency case where your bunny is incontinent a bum bath (or partial bath of the affected area) is suitable, but really other than that you don’t want to.

Bunnies are (sort’ve) like cats…they clean themselves very well and almost never need to be given a bath. Rabbits can get sick really easily if they are wet and cold for longer periods of time. You can dry them with a hair dryer, BUT its not really safe seeing as it can get really hott really fast and their skin is super super super delicate! So best thing, let them clean themselves. IF they do happen to get a little dirty, take a damp wash cloth and “pet” the dirt or whatever away.

Butt baths can be used for ‘poopy butts’ or maybe a few other cases, I suppose.
And giving your bun a bath can cause hypthermia, when bathed.
If he *IS* dirty take a damp cloth and wipe away soiled spots on fur.
I don’t remember who, but a member here on BB gives her bun a slight “washing” with a damp cloth. Her bun really enjoys it, and relaxes him.
