Hi! I have two lop bunnies, ages 1 yo and 6 mo. I have been searching for a vet for awhile, but haven’t seem to find a rabbit vet in my area. I realized that I need a vet in case of an emergency, and for yearly checkups. Would anyone try helping me? I am located in the Plymouth, MN area. Thank You from the bunnies and myself, I apprieciate it!

Once you choose a vet I’d book an exam for both-this will give your bunnies the experience of a car ride and time to get used to the vets voice and the smells and sounds there. A vet office can be scary to visit if you are sick and have never been there before. This will also give your vet a baseline for your bunnies to help him/her recognize what is wrong when your bunny is sick. Also it’s a good time to chat and ask questions

Try searching with your zip code in some of the sites that are linked at the top of the Forum, with the red pushpins. There are two posts regarding vet searches you can read through that should help you find someone for rabbits, aka exotics.

I had to call every vet in my area to find an exotics vet, there is only 2, the nearest one was at banfield ( the pet hospital in most petsmarts ) and I was kind of iffy about that but the exotics woman is a really good vet, and they are so nice and take good care of him, but she only works once a week unless there is an emergency. Maybe if you have a banfield you could try there.
