My bonded pair is driving me nuts! I made the mistake of moving one of their litter boxes. So, after a lot of protesting “I shall poop RIGHT HERE, cause that is where my box WAS” I moved the box back. Now, they pee and poop all around it!! It is maddening. Any suggestions on how to get them to stop?

Unfortunately, I can’t offer much help. My two when they lived together never stuck to their litter habits and would pee and poo all around the boxes too. 6 months trying everything everyone could suggest didn’t help. Hopefully your two are not going to be that stubborn though!

Clean the area really well daily and try to keep every dropping up as fast as you can so they don’t get the idea of marking cause it smells like that is where it should go. Could maybe try adding another box, though the change might upset them more. Good luck, I feel your pain, I hate scrubbing up pee. :s

Funny thing is, they are perfect every where else. The other litter box they have is used and there is never any pee or poop around it. It is just this one area. I wonder if blocking them from this area will help? Stinkers!

I would give it a little bit and see if they get the marking out of their system now that things are back the way they like it, then you could try and see if blocking could help. It never did with my pair though, they were all like “fine, you blocked it off, so i’ll just pee right on the thing you blocked it off with!”. o.O
