So I noticed that Blossom is pooping every where lately.  Im sure she is urinating too but thats not as easy to find.  I do sometimes see pee in her digging box and under the basket she likes to chew because that is on a floor but the rest of the room has a rug.  The rug is dark so i cant see if there is pee stains.  Also when I clean the litter box I notice there is not as much urine in it as usual.  Do they go back to the great litter box habits once they are spayed?  Anyone have experience with this?

Hi Mindy, I’m going to put this in the behavior section.

Often after being fixed there’s a spike in hormones before they settle down, so I loss in litter habits isn’t too unusual. Just keep cleaning it up and hopefully she’ll go back to the good habits she had before.

Two of my buns were the same but once they were neutered/spayed they picked up good litter habits again and I didn’t even have to try. One of them still leaves the occasional poop around, but that doesn’t bother me.

I have another bun who was just neutered yesterday, so I’m hoping he’ll pick up good litter habits again. He was fully litter trained until he hit puberty about a month ago and now he goes everywhere other then the litter box!

My bun was crazy and hormonal; she peed all over the place before she was spayed and it drove me crazy (you can read about it in earlier forum posts lol!). But once she was spayed she got SO much better, and is nearly perfect about her habits, besides some slight territorial issues she has once in a while. But those are usually short term and easy to deal with by changing around the environment or litterboxes, etc. So yes, most rabbits usually do improve and are great about litter training. There’s hope for you! Keep being patient, it will get better.

My rabbit has perfect habits from 3 days after I brought her home and like a week or so before her spay she peed a couple times outside her box. A couple days after her spay she returned to her normal self again I was surprised that I saw the results so quickly.
