I’m just curious and figured  this would make a good poll.

I clean litterboxes 3-4 times a day, because Zeus is King Poops and refuses to use a dirty box.  And since I’m cleaning his, I just do West’s that often as well.  She doesn’t seem as picky as Zeus about it though.

For Powder, 3-4 times a day usually… he’s like Zeus lol for Stickers, once a day.

Chacha has been having nice, round, large poos as of late, so every 3 days. Usually it is every 4 days.

Peppy’s litter box gets cleaned out every 3 days or so.  However, my mom cleans out Remi’s twice a day…I think it’s pretty crazy, she takes a plastic spoon and scoops out poop and the portions of soiled litter every morning and evening since she doesn’t want to waste clean litter, and she thinks it’s unsanitary to leave poop/pee/soiled litter sitting out in the open for so long.  Nice of her I guess but wayyy too much work for me, haha.

There is no way I could clean the litter boxes daily – I clean my rabbits area (vacuum twice a day) and general cleaning, but not the litter boxes. Maybe I would if I could, but I can’t so I don’t.

I clean it once a day, but I also use a litter scoop a couple times a day just to “sweep” the poos out of the center and into the corner.

twice a day, but only because Parsley associates hay with toilet so i can only put hay in the litter box and he demands it constantly be in fresh supply

I clean the boxes usually once a day. Sometimes I will go 2 days if they are not too dirty. Olivia will pee in her hay if her box is not clean. What a diva.

I was torn what to put as my response on the poll because Bunjamin has two litter boxes at my place and one at my parents and they all get changed in different intervals. His main one in his condo is like 4 times the size of him so really it only needs to be changed once a week with some refreshing mid-week. The one at my parents is also pretty big but not as wide so usually ever 3-4 days but usually that’s the longest I stay there and I clean the box when I arrive and when I leave. And then his least favorite box is the secondary box I have at my place which hardly ever gets changed (he doesn’t pee in it- just occassionally poo) and thats just his afternoon hay snack place or when he’s in the mood for shredding newspaper. LOL funny I ran across this poll today though because it’s cleaning time!

I clean once a week. I have a couple litter boxes and I put fresh hay down on top every day (actually, the bunnies usually do this while pulling hay out of the racks). They don’t smell and the bunnies are sitting on clean hay every day, so I stopped changing them every 4 days.

I put every 3-4 days, but idk. I don’t really keep track. Most of the time I go by how it looks, though I have been known to let it go until it smells. Though because she is under my bed now, I don’t like to ever let it smell. The weird thing is that I just dump the litter in a trash can (also in my small room) and let that build up for up to two weeks, and even then it doesn’t smell.

I checked the every 3-4 day, but I just got new litter boxes that are smaller and I may need to start cleaning them every other day now.

I use the litterscreen, so I dump the poos and soiled hay that is on top of the screen into a paper back, and then I scoop out the corner of urine soaked hay as well. I add in a new scoop of fresh litter, put the screen back on and then top it off with fresh hay on the screen. Vivian loves to hang out in her box and munch on hay. so getting out the old soiled stuff and putting in fresh stuff makes her get in it more often. (She’s very tidy as she only used the litterbox to pee and poo).

If I am really busy, I will wait until the second morning (just adding fresh hay inbetween cleaning time.)

As far as really “cleaning cleaning” the box, I do that about once a week. Soak it for about five minutes in vinegar/water to get any hard stains, otherwise, I just wash it out with warm water and dishwashing soap.

I dump it out completely and do a quick vinegar/water/baking soda wash and rinse 2x a week. (Night before or morning of the trash day pick ups.)
With the aspen pellets underneath, the urine gets pulled down and soaked in without a smell. I always have a layer of aspen shavings on top of the pellets, so she poops on that. When she has a little pile, I sprinkle fresh shavings over them and she uses that spot again. Since her litter pan is large, she just moves around it for fresh spots to leave new poos. It’s been working for us.

Although lately when I clean it completely, I find a little fresh pile of poos next to her food dishes and she didn’t use the clean pan at all! I throw them into the fresh pan and she gets back to normal. Must remember to get that Sammykins smell in the clean pan every time.

I clean the litter boxes completely every other day. I scoop or dump the screen in the litter boxes 2-3 times a day though. These guys go through litter like crazy!

There are litter screens here at the BB store.

I clean the urine out everyday and dump the whole thing once a week.

Ok – Bucks litter box only gets fully cleaned once a week with a mid week poop scoop and removal of pee soaked pellets. But he’s not like most buns – he doesn’t like sitting in there so it’s not really a problem. I tried cleaning it everyday and he still did the same. So his hay rack isn’t even there, it’s by his favorite laying spot – he’s kinda lazy. But he also has to have 2 boxes because he hasn’t figured out going back in his cage for bathroom so we have one in the corner and one in his cage.
