Im so excited to order Brittany, new coroplast for her cage. Purple of course to go with her purple grids. I’m getting her a new Hidy House, travel carrier, corn husk mat, Cabbage bowl, Scatterless Corner pan and a BUNCH of toys. Im soo excited!! Some of the toys are birthday gifts for her(may 13th) and binky(july4th).  Planning ahead, i know. I cant wait for my taxes to come. Any day now.

Does  anyone use a Scatterless Corner pan? Does it work well?

In my experience, the corner pans are useless. Every bunny I meet prefers the large cat sized rectangular litter boxes to the tiny corner ones. More room for them to sit, and as they like to eat hay and go at the same time, that makes sense to me

My bunny Petie loves his scatterless corner litterpan, it’s plenty big for him to change positions in and he loves to perch his little paws on the rim while he does his business! I agree with Monkeybun that many corner litterpans are too tiny, and if those ones are the only corner pans you’ve ever seen, I can see why they would be discouraging. But it’s my understanding that the scatterless lock’n’litter ones (like from the rabbitmart.com) which hook over the xpen wires, come in small and large. Petie uses a large – he’s a 3 lb lionhead and he uses it faithfully, bless his heart. It has a nice high back, so the urine stays well within the pan. I just dump out the carefresh litter and dump in fresh Carefresh litter when I change the litter. Lately he’s been carrying hay pieces from his Leith Petwerks overhead bin/chute next to it, to his litterbox and adding pieces around the outer parameter, but that’s up to him. lol I just put Carefresh in his litterpan. I may be in the minority but I can heartily vouch for my bunny’s loving his big corner scatterless pan.

I can see where a corner litter pan (although I’m not familiar with this one) might work for little fuzzies like lashkay’s. But for a larger rabbit, you should consider a regular size litter box.

If that is the case, then you may want to keep her current pan and keep it as consistent as possible.

Four pounds is a bit large for the corner pans – my Stickers was 4 lbs when I got her and she just barely fit in it and preferred the larger pans. Now, neither of mine like hay in their boxes (they don’t like to soil near their food), but they do like having lots of space to put their front feet forward, bunch their tails up and stay as far away from the mess as possible. And when one side gets wet, they go to the other side of their pans, which they couldn’t do with a corner box at all, which made Stickers often use outside the box when I had one (was using WSP for her, since she doesn’t mind them).

West has a corner litterbox, but she’s also small (4lbs) and it’s the biggest corner box I’ve ever seen, it was a lucky find!  I’d say for most buns though a corner box isn’t going to work.  I use it for West because she has a crooked front leg, and finds it easier to get into the corner box because the front of it is very low and easy to get into.

I used to love the corner ones, until Molly got too big and her little bum hung over the edge and she didn’t realized that every time she peed it was going all through the cage. yeah, got tired of cleaning up pee on a daily basis reeeeeal fast…the big rectangular ones are great cuz the sides of them are higher so the bunny can’t accidently pee over the side, and there is a lot of room too. I use a cat litterbox that I got for $3 from Walmart. It works like a charm!

I also made a screen for the litterbox, which is so much more cost effecient because less litter is wasted. Binky Bunny has the screens and bigger litterboxes online at the store.

The only corner litter pan I can see working would be one of these

                              http://www.amazon.com/SmartCat-Corner-Litter-Box-Gray/dp/B0018CJZ32/ref=pd_sim_petsupplies_1

the ones they sell for small animals are way too small, I had one when mine was smaller but he started peeing over the side so I bought this giant box at walmart

                              http://www.amazon.com/Van-Ness-Framed-Cat-Pan/dp/B005D142PU/ref=sr_1_123?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1329962082&sr=1-123

Its huge and fits lots of hay…..sometimes he hides in it lol.

This is the great corner litterpan that I use – – big enough for a big rabbit:

Some of the litter boxes at OHS are that one, Lash, and very time one of us bunny knowledgeable volunteers comes in, we have to switch it out to a cat box. Why? Because the big bunnies do NOT fit. They always make a mess! Suitable for under 4lbs maybe, but bigger than that and they are not comfortable in it.
