I want to get an x-pen for Stickers, so she can come play in the living room without having to be around Powder (she still wants to eat his butt off, literally) but I was looking around online and all the ones I saw use a zinc coating (to make it weather proof) - I can’t have zinc coated metal in my house, as zinc is toxic to parrots and the bird is for sure going to climb it, meaning he is going to get the metal in his beak.

Her full time area is a master bedroom she has all to herself, free roam. But it’s much easier to spend time with her while I am doing stuff around the house if play time she can hang out in the living room. So, it won’t be her full time living area, just her play area.

Anyone know of any that are zinc free?

MIdwest has something called E-Coat – I would contact them and ask them what this is – their other pens are zinc plated:

I looked up e-coating but it er… well, confused me lol the description included a chemical chart. I emailed them to ask if it has zinc in it, thanks.

They have no idea as they are a “retailer, not a manufacturer” and they directed me to a manufacturer that doesn’t even make the e-coated pens. :s
