I posted here before about my Bun and he’s doing amazing!

However, my heart hit the wall and I ran here to get good sound advice before this even starts. I live in a place where there are tons of cattle farms right by us. This brings hoards of flies into the houses all over, mine included.

How can I ensure my bun does not get fly strike? I’m glad I remembered this before Summer hits.

make sure his area is kept clean and dry. Clean the litter boxes often, so no flies will lay eggs in the damp litter. check his bottom often too, just in case. You may want to put fly strips up, or something to attract flies away from him.

Does he live indoors? An indoor bunny with a clean habitat has an extremely low chance of flystrike. Flystrike is mostly an issue in outdoor rabbits who aren’t cleaned up and have to sit in their poo (or have poo stuck to their fur that isn’t cleaned up)
