I had my girl spayed today and she is refusing to eat. I have dealt with 6 spays/neuters (recoveries) and this is the first bun who will not eat. When should I start to panic?

Both my girls wouldn’t eat until the next day. I wouldn’t worry until tomorrow. Did she get pain meds? Try offering her fav treats, to tempt her appetite.

            Monkeybun~
I gave her a dose of Metacam about an hour ago. I have a Smörgasbord of stuff out (kale, which she loves, carrots, parsely, cilantro, green leaf and sugar snap peas) and she just turns her head. I will break out the craisins to see if I can tempt her. I do have critical care, but really prefer to hold out on that for a little while.

How long ago did she get home? I’d give her a few hours to just rest-the meds make them dosey and not feel well, and to boot even with pain meds, surgery is painful-so she’s not feeling well. Try the craisins or whatever is irresistable and give her some time.
If your litter box is clean you’ll know as soon as she poos and pees-so you will see early tomorrow am if you need to get back to the vet, or if she’s going. Count/measure what food you put down tonight and ditto-you’ll know if she’s eaten in the night

I got home with her about 3 1/2 hours ago. She is even refusing her beloved craisin. Sigh. I will give her until 2 am ish and then see if I can get critical care in her. I have never had a rabbit do this after surger before.

Has anyone ever tried baby food (carrots)?

My girl didn’t eat until the day after coming home, the vet said not to worry unless she didn’t eat the next morning. I had to hand feed her to get her to eat, then it was just a small amount of greens until the the following evening, when she had a small amount of hay and a small salad. It HURTS to have your tummy cut open!

Did she come around and eat at all?

That’s pretty normal in my experience. It’s usually the next day maybe – at least 24 hours after the procedure.
