Okay so tonght i was doing my normal routine tonight with getting Riley setup for the night. Then i flipped him just to check to make sure everything was okay like i always do and noticed that he is missing alot of hair on the “heals” on his feet! Its just one circle but the skin is irritated and red… this really worries me. Im being 100% honest, he doesnt ever go on any wire, he just goes in a hard bottom plastic litter box. I do have hardwood floor but he has a huge rug that he lays on in his room.

This is  kinda embarrising but there is also a cut on one of his testicles{ hes not neuterd due to medical condition}!!!!!!!!!!! There was the tiniest blood dot! Could this just be him cleaning himself and accidently bit himself??! His eating and drinking is all normal, and poops are normal. I might be overeachting but im very nerves!!! Any advice would be very thankful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE AND THANK YOU  !

Hi, Riley is a rex isn’t he? Because the red areas on feet is very common in that breed (Spockie had what you described) and they are prone to that. If it’s infected he needs to see the vet, but otherwise you might try putting on some Bag Balm which is a goo like vaseline that helps both their feet and human’s.

The testicle could be from a bite or scratch. Are his nails trimmed? With both going on, if he hasn’t had a check up at the vet for a while, you might schedule an appointment for a nail trim and to get him looked over at both feet and testicles just to make sure he isn’t infected anywhere and in need of medication.

Is he a rex breed? He looks like one in his pic. The reason I ask is that rexes are more prone to developing sore hocks since they don’t have the big fluffy feet of other breeds (like lops). Sore hocks are not just an issue with rabbits kept on wire. Carpeting can wear away at the fur also. Once the fur is gone, it’s very hard to get it to come back. The area will usually callous over and you’ll just need to make sure it does not break open or become irritated. Having a variety of surfaces can help. You also need to make sure his weight is maintained and nails are kept very short.

Here’s a good link about sore hocks: http://www.rabbitnetwork.org/articles/sorehocks.shtml

As far as the cut on the testicles, it may have been from grooming. I would keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t get infected.
