Is it ok for a rabbit to chew and ingest a toilet paper roll? I gave one to sunshine before I went to bed and when I woke up it was completely gone.

Did you see scraps around or did it totally disappear?
I’ve never seen a bunny completely eat a whole roll, which is harmless except for that quantity of paper all at once can move it into a realm for concern.
My suggestion would be to do a thorough search for places it could have rolled or been moved under (so it disappeared, but wasn’t necessarily eaten.)
If it’s really looking eaten, then watch bunny’s poos carefully to make sure they are normal, and that there’s no change of appetite.

I would also feed hay and no treats for the rest of the day to get it to move out of the system.

Yes there was 1 little tiny piece I found and the rest was completely gone. I cleaned the cage and didn’t find any piece. The only thing I could think of was she ate it!

                LOL
Ok, Sherlock. I think I would avoid that as a toy from now on. Usually a bunny will toss it, or chew an edge, but I’d stick with some willow balls as toys to chew instead. Those are healthy to ingest. Sammy has already devoured her new heart shaped hay basket. :0

Hannah loves to eat cardboard too, so I try to keep an eye on her and make sure she’s ripping it up and not ingesting too much. It’s not really an issue unless they eat so much that they stop eating hay.

ditto Elrohwen. Cardboard is digestible so eating it isn’t a problem unless your bunny fills up on it and forgoes hay, greens etc

Note: I need to clarify — Cardboard in general is okay, but of course cardboard with a was lining or is colored/dyed with regular ink, then that could cause stomach upset. I know with toilet paper rolls there is a little glue on some — (usually paper towel rolls), but it usually is a very insignificant amount.

Mine completely devour tp rolls too. I don’t give rolls to them often b/c of this. Or I’ll throw one in there for an hour or so, then take it out and put it in recycling. You can try stuffing the rolls with hay, maybe she’d be more interested in the hay than the cardboard?
