it becomes vicious? and im talking about WITH the flash. without the flash i fine. my friend said that she had a female rabbit and she was really sweet but after she took a picture of it (with the flash) she became extremely vicious afterwards. this was a few years ago when i was in middle school. now that i know a lot more, i was thinking that she was just a bunny when she took the picture but then matured into a rabbit going through puberty. the rabbit is not spayed either.

but ever since she told me i’ve been a little wary about taking pictures of my dogs as well lol. i usually cover up the red light you get when focusing on a picture, with my finger, and i never use the flash. i know its probably stupid to think that but still! also i dont think she had an albino rabbit. but is this true at all?

I take tons of pictures with flash of all of the animals I have had and they don’t seem to care.

I don’t use flash because I don’t like how it looks on photos, but I imagine if your flashing any animal (including us!) a lot it would be more than a little annoying.

I’m not sure what your question is about albino rabbits? But a lot of people consider REWs or Red Eyed White rabbits albino.

I photograph animals all the time, I do it a lot with my shelter work… I assure you nothing bad will happen. Her rabbit went nuts because she wasn’t fixed and hit maturity around the time she probably took her pic.

I take pics of my rabbits with the flash, caue without it turns orange (cheap camera lol) and Powder my REW and Stickers my regular mini rex don’t mind, except if they are sleeping they give me the “why are you annoying me, slave?” look.

Your friend equated the timing of the picture taking with the hormone explanation, so it’s not true as you heard it from her.

It’s not bad to be concerned about a flash bothering your bunny’s eyes. They are not harmed by it, but yes, it can be as annoying to them as it is to us after just a few shots. I prefer natural daylight for all my pix whenever possible, so you might find that turning off the flash and opening curtains or turning on room lights gets a good photo instead. There’s no red eye in the pix when there’s no flash used also.

Like Pam said, your friend was just equating the time her rabbit went through puberty with the time she took a picture. There’s absolutely no truth to that.

I usually take pictures with natural light because they come out much better. My dad has a special flash that you can point towards the wall or ceiling – the light reflects back and gives a more natural picture than a flash pointed right at the subject. It’s still super bright and annoys me, but the rabbits don’t care one bit (though Hannah does like to knock the flash over and play with it … lol).

A flash could startle some bunnies who aren’t used to it, but it certainly doesn’t hurt them or make them mean.

ChaCha, mine haven’t gotten the hang of sitting still. They usually want to stick their noses in the camera lens. haha

                              E. – bounced lighting is so good for pix and other things. If you ever have a dark room in your home, if you point a tall light at the ceiling, or a shorter one at the wall, the bounced light off the surface will actually illuminate the room in a broader, diffused way. It’s great for photos.

Chacha told me she’s going on America’s Next Top Model.

Monkey is hell to take pics off. She ends up being a tiny black blob.

Squirrelly is too cute, he breaks the camera every time I take pics. The camera cannot withstand that much adorableness.

Mine certainly give me dirty looks when I snap pictures of them, but they haven’t turned anymore evil than their normal selves I usually don’t because it makes them squint, have red eye, and colors look weird sometimes. Totoro poses all pretty because he’s a pancake but Wilbur can’t stay in one place long enough and usually ends up getting way too close in an effort to try to score some treats.

But of course I would always just be mindful of the flash, definitely don’t go right up to their face and flash it in their eyes, humans don’t like it either lol.

I have an albino, and I try to use flash as less as possible because they have such sensitive retinas. But she does not get bothered by it. If anything, she nudges my camera lens!

Pam, it really does make for nice pictures! My dad is obsessed with photography and the flash was his newest gadget. I still haven’t seen the pictures he took over Christmas of the buns, but I’m excited because our house can be so dark and pictures are hard.
