Someone PLEASE give me a few suggestions of what i can give Biscuit, my 8 year old Netherland dwarf X Lion head apart from his pellets!

He has ‘mature’ food to keep his bones strong and everything, and he eats NO hay, grass etc. Its craziness, I’m trying to find things to give him to help bulk him out because he’s an old and skinny little guy I give him his pellets, some treats but not too many and i’ve tried him with bits of cucumber etc, he’s just VERY picky and had a dental a while ago and has never eaten properly since.

        Any help? Thanks!

You may not be able to change his diet at his age. I think if he’s at a healthy weight and this is what he wants to eat at his age, just let him be.

Have you tried limiting his pellets and switching hay types to find a favorite? By your rabbit not eating hay it is probably causing dental problems.

Have you tried other veggies besides cucumbers? Here is one list of good rabbit veggies:

              Carrot tops
              Cilantro
              Beet tops
              Swiss chard
              Dandelion greens and flowers
              Parsley
              Clover
              Kale
              Cabbage
              Collards
              Broccoli – including leaves
              Escarole
              Carrot
              Romaine lettuce
              leaf lettuce
              Brussel sprouts
              Endive
              Radicchio
              Mint leaves
              Bok Choy

If you’ve only tried one type or brand of hay, try some other varieties or brands. Hay can be so variable. You may be able to find one that Biscuit likes, if you try several different ones.

Have you tried something like botanical hay or the parsley flavored hay treats (they have some at the BB store)? The botanical hay is okay to feed unlimited and has stuff like lavender, chamomile, and rose hips to make the hay really enticing. Biscuit might enjoy those

If he *is* losing weight, you might try alfalfa hay too. I’ve read its ok for the elderly buns
