My rabbit poops a normal amount in his cage, not too bad at all. But, when I take him to a new place like my mom’s house or into my sister in laws room he poops A LOT. especially at my mom’s. He’s in his xpen and you can’t even really see the floor. It’s crazy!! I can’t stand there all day picking up pellets. Why does he do this?

Yep, claiming territory. It MAY calm down after neuter, but he may still want to drop a couple now and then in new places. Totally normal, totally sweepable

This is true for all three of my buns but it’s a totally manageable amount. I find Olivia does it more which makes sense as females are more territorial.

I have a litter box in my bedroom, so my bunny can do her business while she explores my room.

She often likes to poop OUTSIDE of the litterbox. I am not sure if it is because she likes to sit OUTSIDE the box, eat hay, and poo at the same time, or if it is something else

I don’t mind Otherwise, she is pretty good with the living room potty box.

I have the same problem. Peter is neutered and a Holland Lop, always used his box. Then he fell in love with Patty, lionhead angora dwarf mix, and altho she has been fixed three weeks, together they mark by dropping pellets along all walls, even around a watering can on the floor. Around the cage, every cardboard box, u get the idea. I am so tired of sweeping (they use litter boxes too tho) that I hate to let them in living room. I am hoping this gets better.

Definitely territorial and definitely something that might calm down after the neuter. Mine always leave a few poos out when they go to a new place but are 100% in their litter box at home.
