Whenever I pet or cuddle Cheddar’s bum area, around his tail, he can’t help but lick things. He licks the carpet, my hand, the lamp, the wall, whatever is around him. He cannot stop licking when I touch this area. It’s really funny.

Does anyone know why he does this? Do you think he likes it so can’t stop licking? Do your bunnies have a spot?

Apparently they have a lick reflex. Certain spots cause them to automatically start licking. Lolli seems to have a few. The one above her tail, between her shoulder blades and sometimes on her sides. Usually the only time I get any kisses out of her is when I touch one of those spots. LOL

Okay, so I think Cheddar likes it. I thought so, but just wanted to check. Silly buns and their licking. Their tongues feel so ticklish and dry against my skin.

Otto does this too, but Hannah doesn’t – it’s definitely a reflex spot, like if you scratch a dog in just the right place his leg will start shaking.

My cat and my boyfriend’s three cats also do this, when you scratch or tap the area just above their tail. It’s really funny!
