A couple of days ago we decided to put bud and Halo in the same cage...they were doing wonderfully. They had been bonded for quite some time and we had gotten a much bigger cage for them to share. Well two nights ago, there was a terrible accident and Halo some how got her foot stuck in the cage bars and tried to kick it free. While doing so she broke her own back in between the shoulder blades. My hubby was at work that night and I had to tell him what happened. He loved that big girl. We both did. But that was "his" bunny buddy.
While I was trying to find someone to take me to the vet (I don't drive) she passed away. We buried her in the backyard where in the spring we'll plant some of her favorite treats.
Even though it has been some time, I still can't believe that she is gone. I feel like this is all my fault...and I mean I know logically that I couldn't have known this was going to happen...but still. Here are some pictures of Halo, May she rest in peace.
